On behalf of our client, we urgently seek to! recruit a Back Office RAN
Support Engineer with proven ability, on a contractual basis.
As the Back Office RAN Support Engineer you will be required to be a
part of, and effectively contribute to, the objectives and work of the Back
Office RAN Support team. They are looking for you to be a highly
specialised systems engineer providing technical support and guidance
for O&M engineers, in addition to being able to escalate and liaise with
vendors & service providers for 4th line support until resolution. The BO
RAN Support engineer will need to also provide support during
vendor/supplier ORMx2019;s with technical/statistical data as required.
As Back Office RAN Support Engineer your responsibilities will include:
x2022; 3rd line technical support for all aspects of the Nokia RAN
comprising RNC, AXC and Node B elements
x2022; Responsible for high level analysis, diagnosis and problem
solving on the RAN
x2022; Advising on the processes and procedu! res within ETL that the
RAN Support team are responsible for a! nd have involvement with
x2022; Interfacing with Engineering and Network rollout to ensure that
all technical issues that will affect the operational environment are
included in testing, discussions etc
x2022; Ensure that all necessary hardware and software functionality is
included and performance limitations are understood within Operations
x2022; Advising of any skills that are required within the team
x2022; Ensure that sufficient documentation exists to be able to audit
RNCx2019;s
x2022; Ensure that accurate RNC configuration documentation is
maintained and an adequate disaster recovery procedure is produced
x2022; Closely monitoring the planned works on the deployed RAN on a
switch by switch basis, to ensure that network availability is sufficiently
maintained taking the necessary corrective action where necessary
x2022; Ensure that the RAN availability is maintained whilst carrying out
hardware and software upgrades
x2022; To maintain ! maximum levels of RAN availability by assisting in
the development and / or enhancement, of reactive & proactive skills

and processes
x2022; Ensuring that the RAN security is maintained at all times
x2022; Advising the team responsible for the above activities, assisting
with prioritising work and giving direction and motivation
x2022; Effectively escalate & liaise with Vendor support until fault
resolution
x2022; Out of hours support as part of an on-call rota
x2022; Maintain all KPI and SLA above agreed levels
Our client is looking for a talented candidate with a proven background
in performing the Back Office RAN Engineer role, strong integration /
support ability of NOKIA RNC AXC and Node be operation and
maintenance, and in depth technical knowledge of 3G
telecommunications networks. It is preferred that you are also familiar in
providing 3rs Line Support in an on-call environment, with a strong
understanding of ATM and IP networks & protoc! ols, and good
knowledge of NetAct.
