Legal considerations:
Trespass law
The law of trespass prevents anyone from entering an area of land that is solely
owned by one person/institute, this however does not apply to my photo-shoot
because all of my photos will be taken in college.
Copyright Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988
The law of copyright is a law that prevents any work from being copied, the use
of this is prohibited unless the copyright holder gives permission usually for a
fee. This will not apply to my photo because the photographs that I am taking
will be my own intellectual property.
Trademark Trademark act 1994
Trademark is a law that protects a word or phrase, for example Googles motto
Dont be evil will be trademarked to prevent anyone from copying their
trademark. I will prevent prosecution for this by not using any material that could
infringe upon a trademark without permission from the trademark holder.
Defamation of Character
Defamation of character is a statement that harms the recipients reputation,
different forms of this are called slander, slander is a harmful statement that is
spoken about a person. There is also libel which is a statement that harms
someones reputation printed or image based media. I will avoid being
prosecuted for defamation by not using any offensive images or cover lines,
there would not really be any form of slander as there is no spoken element to a
magazine.
Obscene publications act 1959
The obscene publications act is a series of laws that prevent obscene content
from being used in written (Newspapers/Magazines) or broadcast
(Television/Radio) forms of media. The laws prevent inappropriate language
being used, this will not apply because I will not use any obscene language as
this could damage the reputation of my magazine.

Brandon Hedge
Equality Act 2010
The equality act is an anti-discrimination law that protects anyone from being
treated unfairly because of their: race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, age
and disability. This act does not apply to my magazine because it is produced on
a small scale however if it were to be made on a larger scale then this act would
apply.
Ethical Considerations:
Representational Issues
I will avoid representational issues by showing teenagers in a positive light, I will
do this by not using any articles that could harm the reputation of teenagers. I
will also avoid representational issues by not using any photo manipulation
software such as Photoshop, I will avoid photo manipulation to make the images
more realistic which will appeal more to teenagers than magazines that do use
photo enhancement.
