Candidates from outside SAARC region may be asked to give both the seminar and an interview through Video-conferencing/Skype.
Selected candidates will be expected to join the position as soon as possible since their teaching/research/academic obligations will
start around July 26, 2013.

IV. Salary, Benefits and Incentives:

a. Salary package being offered by SAU is highly attractive, compared to what faculty members are offered in Central or State
Universities in India. The annual basic salary range at SAU is US$ 30,000 to 45,000 for the position of Professor, US$ 20,000 to
35,000 for Associate Professor, and US$ 15,000 to 25,000 for Assistant Professor. Initial salary in the prescribed range will be fixed, on
case to case basis, cumulatively on the strength of academic record, experience and performance history.

b. A 3% annual increment in basic salary is provided.

c. Once SAUs own campus is built on the 100 acre plot in South Delhi (expected in 2016), on-campus unfurnished residential
accommodation will be provided to all faculty members on payment of a nominal license fee. Faculty members not availing of the
campus accommodation or during the period before the campus is ready will be paid 25% of their basic salary as House Rent
Allowance (HRA).

d. A Dearness Allowance (DA) to neutralize the inflation will be added to the basic salary twice a year at the rate announced by the
Government of India for its employees. At present, 52% DA is added to the basic salary. Additional DA will become applicable on first
of July and first of January each year as per DA enhancement announced by the Government of India for its employees.

e. An additional amount equal to 10% of the basic pay will be contributed in a pension fund of employees choice. Retirement benefits
of leave encashment and gratuity are available as per SAU Rules / Regulations.

f. Thus the HRA, DA and Pension contribution add a combined 87% to the basic salary. It should also be noted that in actual
purchasing power, the Indian Rupees are highly undervalued vis--vis US dollar. Purchase power parity (PPP)-wise, the actual
