The data below shows the level of agreement in the statement that treatment can help persons with mental illness lead normal lives (as of
2007). This is by state and territory and the levels are: disagree strongly, disagree slightly, neither agree nor disagree, agree slightly, agree
strongly. This assesses the attitude of the effectiveness of treatment.

Select a segment (sample) of the data, based either on time or other parameter, and do a Hypothesis Test for the mean of the segment against the
total data set;
H0:=83 Ha:>83. We are looking to find if the average is equal to 83% or more than 83%.
Discuss the relationship between the Confidence Interval and the Hypothesis Test of the mean
The confidence interval shows that it will be between about 81-85%, so we are testing the average of 83 in our hypothesis test.
Select TWO segments (samples) of the data either based on time or other parameter, and do Hypothesis Test for Two Samples for the mean;
I decided to calculate the Agree Strongly and Disagree Strongly versus Agree Slightly and Disagree Slightly. Below are the difference in
means for each state.

If possible do a Regression Analysis on your data set, if not possible, state why;
It is not possible with this data to do a regression analysis. We dont have one dataset used to predict values for a second dataset, there is no
correlation.
Draw some Conclusions from the data based on your analysis of the statistics above. Support your conclusions with p-values, confidence
intervals, tables, and graphs.
The data found is very close throughout the states. There are four outliers as shown in the earlier table but most fall in the same range. The
95% percentile is between 73.28% and 96.52%, with a mean of 83.05, a median of 84.9 and standard deviation 5.811. The confidence interval for
the mean is 1.89 (so the range is 81.16 to 84.94). This is purely an agreement level of all people and only of one year (throughout states). The
percentage of those who agree is very high, and in reverse, the percentage of those who disagree that treatment can help persons with mental
illness lead normal lives is very low throughout the country. This is a great sign for agencies and companies trying to fight the stigma of getting
and giving help to those afflicted with mental illnesses and hopefully will grow in acceptance.
