Objectiveof"PradhanMantriJanDhanYojana(PMJDY)"isensuringaccesstovariousfinancialserviceslikeavailabilityofbasicsavingsbankaccount,
access to need based credit, remittances facility, insurance and pension to the excluded sections i.e. weaker sections & low income groups. This deep
penetrationataffordablecostispossibleonlywitheffectiveuseoftechnology.
Hon'ble Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi on 15 August, 2014 announced "Pradhan Mantri JanDhan Yojana (PMJDY)" which is a National Mission for
FinancialInclusion.

PradhanMantriJanDhanYojana(PMJDY)isNationalMissionforFinancialInclusiontoensureaccesstofinancialservices,namely,Banking/Savings&
DepositAccounts,Remittance,Credit,Insurance,Pensioninanaffordablemanner.
AccountcanbeopenedinanybankbranchorBusinessCorrespondent(BankMitr)outlet.PMJDYaccountsarebeingopenedwithZerobalance.However,
iftheaccountholderwishestogetchequebook,he/shewillhavetofulfillminimumbalancecriteria.

NationalInstitutionforTransformingIndia(NITI)Aayog
NITIAayogwillseektoprovideacriticaldirectionalandstrategicinputintothedevelopmentprocess.GovernmenthadannouncedformationofNITIAayog
on1January2015.
In accordance with a key announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Independence Day, the Union Government today established NITI
Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India), as replacement for the Planning Commission. This comes after extensive consultation across the
spectrumofstakeholders,includingstategovernments,domainexpertsandrelevantinstitutions.
NITIAayogwillseektoprovideacriticaldirectionalandstrategicinputintothedevelopmentprocess.
The centretostate oneway flow of policy, that was the hallmark of the Planning Commission era, is now sought to be replaced by a genuine and
continuingpartnershipofstates.
NITIAayogwillemergeasathinktankthatwillprovideGovernmentsatthecentralandstatelevelswithrelevantstrategicandtechnicaladviceacross
thespectrumofkeyelementsofpolicy.
The NITI Aayog will also seek to put an end to slow and tardy implementation of policy, by fostering better InterMinistry coordination and better Centre
State coordination. It will help evolve a shared vision of national development priorities, and foster cooperative federalism, recognizing that strong states
makeastrongNation.
TheNITIAayogwilldevelopmechanismstoformulatecredibleplanstothevillagelevelandaggregatetheseprogressivelyathigherlevelsofgovernment.
Itwillensurespecialattentiontothesectionsofsocietythatmaybeatriskofnotbenefittingadequatelyfromeconomicprogress.
The NITI Aayog will create a knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurial support system through a collaborative community of national and international
experts, practitioners and partners. It will offer a platform for resolution of intersectoral and interdepartmental issues in order to accelerate the
implementationofthedevelopmentagenda.
Inaddition,theNITIAayogwillmonitorandevaluatetheimplementationofprogrammes,andfocusontechnologyupgradationandcapacitybuilding.
Throughtheabove,theNITIAayogwillaimtoaccomplishthefollowingobjectivesandopportunities:

Progressfromfoodsecuritytofocusonamixofagriculturalproduction,aswellasactualreturnsthatfarmersgetfromtheirproduce.

Ensurethattheeconomicallyvibrantmiddleclassremainsengaged,anditspotentialisfullyrealized.

IncorporatethesignificantgeoeconomicandgeopoliticalstrengthoftheNonResidentIndianCommunity.

Regional Councils will be formed to address specific issues and contingencies impacting more than one state or a region. These will be formed for a
specified tenure. The Regional Councils will be convened by the Prime Minister and will comprise of the Chief Ministers of States and Lt. Governors of
UnionTerritoriesintheregion.ThesewillbechairedbytheChairpersonoftheNITIAayogorhisnominee

The plan is considered ambitious as it aimed to bring a number of development programs to the villages. Some of these programs are Bharat Nirman,
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for rural roads, water supply, housing, electrification and other bigticket schemes like Sarva Shiksha
Abhiyan,MahatmaGandhiNationalRuralEmploymentGuaranteeAct,ICDS,sanitation.Thisprogramwouldbeapplicabletoaround44,000villageswhich
hadascheduledcastespopulationabove50%andsoqualifiedforPMAGY.
The Plan aims to build an "Adarsh Gram" (Model village} which has adequate physical and institutional infrastructure, in which minimum needs of all
sections of the society are fully met. The village which is progressive and dynamic and its residents live in harmony. All the facilities necessary for
dignifiedlivingshouldbeavailableandtheresidentsareenabledtoutilisetheirpotentialtothefullest.
Implementation
Theaimoftheschemeistointegrateddevelopmentoftheselectedvillagessothattheyhaveallrequiredphysicalandsocialinfrastructureforanallround
socioeconomic development. Another objectives of the plan is elimination of disparity between SCs and other communities in terms of common socio
economicindicatorssuchasliteracyrate,completionrateofelementaryeducation,infantmortalityrate/maternalmortalityrateandownershipofproductive
assets. To ensure the implementation two committees an advisory committee headed by the Deputy Chief Minister and a steering committee headed by
theChiefSecretaryhavebeenformed.

Make in India is an international marketing campaigning slogan coined by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on 25 September 2014 to attract
businesses from around the world to invest and manufacture in India. The campaign has been concentrated to fulfill the purpose of job creation,
enforcementtosecondaryandtertiarysector,boostingthenationaleconomy,convertingtheIndiatoaselfreliantcountryandtogivetheIndianeconomy
globalrecognition.The'MakeinIndia'alsoattemptstoenforcetheinflowofFDIinthecountryandimproveservicesbypartialprivatizationoflossmaking
governmentfirms.ThecampaigniscompletelyundercontroloftheCentralGovernmentofIndia.
Objective
Themajorobjectivebehindthisinitiativeistofocusupontheheavyindustriesandpublicenterpriseswhilegeneratingemployment,empoweringsecondary
andtertiarysectorandutilizingthehumanresourcepresentinIndia.
The highlights and purpose of Make in India include making India a manufacturing hub and economic transformation in India while eliminating the
unnecessarylawsandregulations,makingbureaucraticprocesseseasierandshorter,andmakegovernmentmoretransparent,responsiveandaccountable
andagovernmentemphasizedupontheframeworkwhichincludethetimeboundprojectclearancesthroughasingleonlineportalwhichwillbefurtheraided
bytheeightmembersteamdedicatedtoansweringinvestorquerieswithin48hoursandaddressingkeyissuesincludinglabourlaws,skilldevelopmentand
infrastructure.

DIGITALINDIAPROGRAMME
Union Cabinet launched the Digital India Programme. The programme is worth 1 lakh crore rupees and seeks to transform the Indian economy into a
digitallyempoweredknowledgeeconomy.
The Digital India programme is a transformed version of the already running National eGovernance Plan. The programme will be implemented in phases
from2014till2018.
AimoftheProgramme
The project aims to provide thrust to nine growth areas. These are: broadband highways, everywhere mobile connectivity, Public Internet Access
Programme,eGovernance,eKranti(whichaimstogiveelectronicdeliveryofservices),informationforall,electronicsmanufacturing,ITforJobsandearly
harvestprogrammes.Projects
included in the program aim to ensure that government services are available to citizens electronically and people get benefit of the latest information
andcommunicationtechnology.
