Dear Parents,

Each year at ISM we begin the process of attending recognized recruitment fairs at
the start of January, where we search the world for the very best faculty to hire.
This is one of the most important tasks an international school administrator must
perform and it was very heartening that at the recent fairs ISM was considered one
of the top notch schools to secure a teaching position at. We have hired some
fantastic teachers for school year 2010-2011 and even better we are almost
finished the process so early in the year.

In addition to hiring new faculty, building a budget and ordering for next year, one
of the crucial pieces of data required to begin the process to build next year’s
schedule is student course registration. We build our high school schedule on the
basis of individual student requests and we have in the past been able to
accommodate approximately 96% of those requests. The key to this success is in
the information-education phase. Having students, teachers, program leaders,
counselors and parents talk about the relevant courses available for an individual
student is paramount. We have just completed the process of revising the High
School Course Offerings book for next year. This year it will be distributed to
grade 8 students and grade 10 students. However all students and parents can
access the online version through the ISM external website, www.ismanila.org as
well as check with their teacher’s and counselor’s.

On Wednesday first semester report cards were available through Power School
and from Thursday report cards have been available for pick up from the High
School Office. I encourage all parents to collect your child’s report card. Please be
aware that we will only distribute report cards to a parent representative if they
have a signed authorization letter.

Please mark February 6th in your calendars for what promises to be a truly
enjoyable ISM Family Fun Day.

Kind regards,

William R. S Brown Michael Dickinson
