Investment Project Summary

Continuous Basalt Fiber and Basalt Plastics

Manufacturing in Armenia
Mother Nature has endowed us with huge resources of Basalt
Now we can realize for which purpose

Continuous Basalt Fiber (CBF) Manufacturing process

At the moment one of our Companies ARJERMEK LLC, located in Hrazdan City, Armenia, is
producing super thin and thin Basalt Roving and wadding, which is very demanded in the Market as a
perfect thermo and sound insulating material. Continuous Basalt Fiber manufacturing is a one part of
Basalt wadding production process. Our production Staff is well trained, and can easily adopt CBF
production process, once required.
For Investors' information:
1 kilo CBF production cost is equal to $1.6 - 2, which is the same as for low quality Fiberglass roving,
imported from China, once calculated including all transportation and other logistic costs. Besides
CBF is much better than Fiberglass.

Since 2004, owing to our Partners Canadian INLINE FIBERGLASS, weve learned in details
Canadian-American type of Pultrusion process, which is different to Russian-Chinese, and is more
effective. Back in 2008 INLINE FIBERGLASSs Pultrusion Line produced first testing samples of Basalt
Plastic profiles. Our Partnership and good relations, established with this Canadian Producer, allow us
to implement this technology in Armenia. In the end of last century, scientists have invested a lot of
time and efforts to develop and research new types of Composite Materials, which could replace
traditional construction materials such as metals, wood, stones, as well as concrete and reinforced
concrete, in nearest future. Mainly Glass and Carbon fiber are used for Composite materials
production recently. These materials are much more expensive, so it make a significant impact on final
products cost.
This goal was reached by 2013 owing to our Staff devoted work.
Currently Company produces 4 types of pultruded Fiberglass profiles for differentapplications (see
pictures in gallery).
Most acceptable in terms of cost/features, providing highest strength, is Basalt Plastic profiles. The
only condition is that they must be produced using pultrusion technology, based on your own CBF
production supply.
Complex of features enable Basalt Plastic application in wide range of industries.

Materials parameters
Strength exceeds Steel, and in the same time four times lighter (1.8 t/m3).
Thermal conductivity is 500 times lower that the same of Aluminum.
Thermal expansion coefficient is scanty.
This material is provides stability in arctic cold as well as in desert heat.
Ecologically and environmentally friendly and purity, in comparison with other materials, which
provides long life service opportunities.
Tremendous and outstanding corrosion resistance.
Can be used in bridge, dyke, seashore fence construction, where aggressive environment
influence is in place.
This Project suppose Continuous Basalt Fiber and Basalt Plastic profiles production workshop
establishment in Armenia with 1600 (500) tons of annual capacity.

ONIX G Co. designed Basalt plastic construction profiles and products,

which can be used in following applications:
1. Construction Industry:
- 1 or 2 floor cottages with excellent thermo and sound insulation, which can be
- Attics construction on top of existing buildings. Total weight of such an attic in that case is lower than
demounted units weight;
- Floating houses construction, which eliminates heavy metallic or concrete reinforced piles and
pontoons necessity;
- Wide range of formworks and shutters to be used not only in monolithic construction, but fixed, for
reinforced modules;

- Moulded strips with any section

- Profiles for bearing structures, replacing steel (angles, U-tubes, double tees, round and square
tubes, etc.);
- Bridges, passages and trestle works construction modules;
- Fire resistant houses.

2. Energy Sector:
- Power transmission poles;
-Walls and barriers/partitions in Nuclear Power Plants;
- Underground shelters for radio active waste containers;
- Radio active containers
- Water cooling towers (carcasses and internal bearing structures), walls and barriers for Nuclear and
other Power plants

3. Agriculture:
- Supporting blocks, braces for vineyards (smooth surfaces with no cracks and clinks
-Greenhouses carcasses
-Beehives baffle plates and decking plus basalt wadding for cavity filling (currently produced by our
workshop now)s
-Fish-breeding ponds walls, flooring and wall-plates
-Boxes for fresh fruits and vegetables transportation
-Irrigation systems pipelines
-Floorings and other parts for caw houses and other buildings

4. Transport sector
-

Passenger stocks internal and external furnishingg

Railroad ties
Refrigerator wagons insulating panels
Barrage bars for highways
Noise absorbing shields for highways
Bill boards for Ads

5. Military Industrial sector

-

Heat & sound insulation for engines and turbiness

Fortification works
Underground Shelters
Quick assembling (and disassembling) buildings
Ammunition stocks and buildings
Bulletproof shields for polygons

Weve elaborated mid-term Development Plan for coming 3 5 years expansion, including R&D for
1. Jointless railroad rails for high speed trains
2. Large diameter jointless pipes (underground, on-ground and underwater) oil and gas pipelines,
which requires no exploitation and service maintenance and minimal maintenance for protection
against stray current influence
3. Flooring for large stadiums
4. Nuclear Power plants containments
5. Water cooling towers for NPPs.
Were sure that in future, Basalt Composite materials will be used for Lunar or Mars stations.
Based on that fact, Armenia has Basalt huge deposits, assessed around 125 billion cubic meters, we
also plan to focus on further R&D, aimed to continue research of Basalt thermal processing and
pultrusion technologies modernization.
It means that such a Project can consume hundreds of millions of USD Investments.
