WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 22-24; Mark 12:1-22
Wednesday, March 11

Isa. 43:6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my
sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

John 4:50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the
word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord
added to the church daily such as should be saved.

O Lord, My Father:
This was a word to the seed of Israel who were scattered southward, but I
take it as a summons to myself. Keep not back. Dont hold back!
Look Lord, I know so many people who seem naturally backward to
everything that is right. Use me to give them a lesson of grace and teach them to
go forward in the way with God.
Some of them want to be savedI know they dobecause they want
significance, purpose, and meaning to their lives. They want out of the rut of sin.
Help them keep not back from getting saved. Love invites them. Your promises
ensure their reception. Precious blood has paved the way. Let not their fears
hinder __________ or __________, but help them come to Jesus today.
Do I long to pray? Would I pour out my heart for them to you? Keep not
back. Since I am already saved, then I should keep not back from uniting with this
church and the Lords people in it. I should keep not back from the ordinances of
baptism and the Lords Supper. I may be shy or timid, but I have to fight against
that natural tendency lest it lead me into disobedience.
Do I have talents? Then I should keep not back from surrendering them to
Jesus. Hoard not my tithe. Waste not my time. Let not my abilities rust or my
influence go unused. Teach me to stir-up the spiritual gifts you have given me!
Jesus kept not back. I must imitate him by being in the forefront in selfdenial and self-sacrifice. Help me keep not back from close communion with you,
Lord. Today I come boldly for your blessing. Hell has not held back. Do not
allow me to keep others back by my coldness. I ask it all for Jesus sake. Amen.

Dear Lord and Master:

How many times am I reluctant to believe your bare-naked word? How
seldom do I pray without laying down any stipulations about how I want you to
answer? Lord, I want to trust you moreto be like this nobleman who required
no vivid dreams and requested no strange sensations.
Holy Spirit, help me believe in Christ just as he is revealed in the Bible, and
then prove the sincerity of that faith by my obedience. When Jesus told this man
to go home, because his son was healed, he not only believed but he left (and he
left his worries with Jesus). I dont have to wait around for emotion to propel me.
What does it matter how I feel as long as I do what youve said?
This father did not believe because he heard the report of a good prognosis.
He also did not wait for a sign. It was on your bare word alone that he hung all
his confidence. While he may have expected a gradual restoration to health for
his child, he got far above what he asked or thought. The fever of anxiety left the
father at the same time the fever of disease left his son.
How little I know of you Jesus, and how little do I believe in you even
when I do trust you. I measure your boundless riches by my slim wallet. Help me
believe insteadright up to the rim. You dont deserve a half-faith!
When I am dealing with the lost, help me remember the faith that saves
doesnt have to be full-grown. There can be room to believe even more, and to
expect even more of my Jesus. What if no amazing joys flash through their soul?
What if they do not dance for joy? Yet they can sing of your salvation. High joys
will come. In the meantime teach us to trust and not be terrified. Amen.
FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 28-30; Mark 13
Friday, March 13

Father of Light:
What can I do to see my personal revival reach the lost? Conversion is the
work of your Spirit. Without you I can do nothing. Still yet, there are
circumstances under which your hand will work, just like there are hindrances
that will restrain your power.
1. If my revival is to spread to the lost then I have to watch for the lost
As a rule, we achieve what we attempt. Converting my lost friends is not
something that will happen without me being intentional with my testimony.
Who wins souls that does not desire to win souls? Few businessmen become rich
by accident; they usually have a good business plan. To be rich in saved souls I
need you to give me the grace to work at it, and to witness. Men and women will
not come to Christ if I do not preach Christ, or bring them to others who are
preaching him at church. I pray someone will come to Christ today through my
effort to get them the gospel. Let me bend my whole soul to win souls!
2. I have to press on them the truths that you usually bless
Acts 11:20-21 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they
were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the
Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
Now thats how to spread revival! If I do not preach Jesus I will not see
people saved. No broken hearts are healed by psychology. Souls are not
saved by intellectual argument. If I diminish the cross I diminish your blessing for
revival. Help me Lord, this day, to be after the lost in the ways youve designed.
Give me grace to spread revival to those whom I know, for Jesus sake. Amen.

Isa. 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I
will strengthen thee

Psa. 44:1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work
thou didst in their days, in the times of old.

Heavenly Father and Lord of Life:

We know not whether we will be called to serve or to suffer in fulfilling
your Eternal Purpose, but at the beginning of this spring we take stock of our
strength. In our flesh it is less than we thought, and far less than we need. We fall
back on your word today. We look to your Spirit through the scriptures, because
they guarantee all we could possibly need. Three things we know, O Lord:

God has all strength

You can convey that strength to us

Your promise is that you will!

Give us food for our souls and health to our hearts. You are our strength.
There is no predicting in advance how you might supply us today. But once your
strength comes, then our weaknesses are no longer a handicap.
Give us such a dose of spiritual vigor that we wonder at ourselves!
Strengthen us with might in the inner man by your Spirit. In the midst of danger
make us calm. In grief make peaceful. Under slander make us self-controlled. In
trial make us patient. At work make us faithful. In pain give us faith. When
questioned give us a bold witness. In all things give us confidence in Christ.
You impart unexpected strength when unusual circumstances arise. Take us
out of our feeble shells to play the man. Give us wisdom for our foolishness, and
words with spiritual power in place of our silence. Bring us boldness as well as
blessing. Our own weaknesses make us shrink, but your promises make us brave.
Strengthen us Lord, according to your word, for so we ask it to Jesus praise and
glory. Amen.

Almighty God and Master:

Godly parents are the best teachers. Let me not be tongue-tied when it
comes to my children (physical or spiritual), or they will remain sin-tied. Help me
give full expression to the history of your work in me. Let me make others see
the footprints of the Lord in my changing circumstances (but to do that, I must
first be able to see them myself).
I cannot be inactive, but my valor is secondary to your Spirits miraculous
working in my life. Canaan was not conquered without the armies of Israel, but it
was not conquered by them either. You Lord, are the Conquistador. Make me an
instrument in the Heros hands. You are worthy of all this praise!
Psa. 44:8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah
Give me union and communion with you today, because the conquests of
believers are always spoken of as being through you, and through your name. Let me
not go to battle in my own strength, for that is when I fail most miserably. But
keep me also from the equally dangerous sin of not being able to trust you, and
therefore not going to the battle against the enemy at all!
Today I am a timid and defenseless sheep, but you can make me strong.
Cause me to push as with the horn of a unicorn until your purpose is established
around me. I can barely stay on my feet sometimes, but divine assistance will
enable me to proclaim the victory. Give me your double-action of blessing me
and confounding my enemies, and while Pharaoh drowns I will pass through the
waters. I need you Lord, for I cannot save myself, even in a temporal sense. Give
me your grace in Jesus Christ. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 25-27; Mark 12:23-44
Thursday, March 12
Acts 6:3,6 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full
of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business whom they set
before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

RISE up, O men of God! Have done with lesser things.

Give heart and mind and soul and strength to serve the King of kings.
Rise up, O men of God! The kingdom tarries long.
Bring in the day of brotherhood and end the night of wrong.
Rise up, O men of God! The church for you doth wait,
Her strength unequal to her task; rise up and make her great!
Lift high the cross of Christ! Tread where His feet have trod.
As brothers of the Son of Man, rise up, O men of God!
William P. Merrill, 1911

THIS WEEKS EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions

asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.

Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
