The Spiritual Nurse

The article was about the importance of Spiritual nurses in the work place. The purpose
of this article is to study how nurses can influence patients with spiritually. As well as, how
spirituality in nurses effect cancer patients. The research ask what makes the nurse visit spiritual.
What is incorporated inside the nurses visit makes it spiritual. The most important part of this
article is when the researcher talks about the difference between religion and spirituality. They
spirituality can go deeper than the religion.
The main influences in this article, in my opinion, is how they emphasized the
importance of spirituality in nurses. However, nurse without spirituality lack the sense of hope
needed to inspire the patients to get through their hard issues. However, cancer can destroy ones
body. Cancer is a disease in my opinion based off ones hope. However, if a patients has a good
attitude or say they can beat the cancer. They will survive. However, the patients that do not do
that will not survive. However, they importance of this is to help the patients that do not have
hope to receive hope. This is to make cancer of the issues of cancer less painful.
The key concepts needed to understand this this article is faith and spirituality. The article
talks about how spirituality can help cancer patients. Furthermore, it also explains the difference
between the two. According to Rassouli et al. (2015) Spirituality can be viewed as a quality
which goes beyond the religious affiliation that strives for answers about the infinity and comes
into focus when the person faces emotional stress, physical illness, or death(25). I believe the

author is trying to articulate that spirituality can be another healing mechanism for cancer or a
mechanism to help subside the symptoms for cancer. I believe the author wants to go deeper in
the important of spirituality. According to Rassouli et al. (2015), The religion is embedded
under the umbrella of spirituality and there is no spirituality without religious thoughts(26).
With this ones connection with that of a higher being can help one get them through their
cancerous state. The main view presented in this article is the importance of spirituality in nurses.
Also, Spiritualty in people goes deeper, than religion.
The researchers reasoning for this study is to explain how spirituality in nurse helps
cancer patients. I select this article because of my theory. (The mind controls the body.) If you
have encouraging people around you tend to have a more enjoyable life. However, when their
not people around that sheds hope the patient tends to be depressed. When one is depressed in
their mind it takes a toll on the body. Also, I select this article because I believe and love God
(the higher being). I believe he can cure all things. I also believe people can bring healing in their
smile. This article is interdisciplinary because it has two disciplines that come together to solve
the problem at hand. The issue at hand is the cancer.
The two disciplines that are integrated to solve the problem is that social psychology and
the disease in the body. The influence that the spiritual nurses have on the patients would be
considered social psychology. The toll cancer is taking over the body is called pathophysiology a
form of biology. The integration of knowledge gives me a better understanding of spirituality.
The tools the author pulls from this article is using spirituality to encourage people. It explains
how nurses are walking interdisciplarians. They never know what they say or do can influence
someone life.
