In the Sport and Recreation Centre we designed, we included a track and field

stadium, 2 Olympic-sized swimming pools, one multi-purpose hall with 6 badminton

courts, 4 volleyball courts, 4 basketball courts, 4 tennis courts, a canteen, 4 conference
rooms, a reception counter and a garden.
The bus stop is placed just outside of the main building of SRC, so that the users
can reach the SRC and they do not have excuse for not exercising.
At the centre of the SRC, there is a 100X35 garden surrounded by tropical plants.
The garden is a perfect place for students stressed out in study to relax their mind by
breathing in the fresh air and enjoy the pleasant view by the ponds. At night, the lawn
can be served as a place for the elderly to practise qi-gong.
The users can jog or cycle on the 2.5m wide pavements. They can choose to do
those exercises at night as lamp posts are installed along the pavements. This is due to
the temperature during daytime in Singapore may be too high for these exercises.
Besides, we prepare adequate lockers and racks for the users to keep their
belongings, so that they can enjoy exercising without worrying the safety of their
belongings. Each locker is secured by a password lock.
The track and field, badminton courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball
courts are built according to Olympic standards. All these facilities can be used at night
as the lighting is sufficient. The lamp posts along the pavement are 2.3 m high, and the
spotlights beside the sport facilities are 15 m high.
Two 50X25X2 m swimming pools are built, there are a total 20 lanes for swimmers
to train. Water polo team can use the swimming pool to practice at the same time while
the swimmers are training.
Six conference rooms are prepared for meetings, seminars, events, and etc. The
lounge can accommodate 32 people at a same time is a good place for discussion and
chat. A canteen is also included in this SRC, so that the users can have their meal once
they feel hungry and they can continue their exercise with full energy.
Water dispensers and dustbins are everywhere in the SRC, users can fill their
bottles at any time. The tidiness and cleanliness of the SRC can be maintained as we
placed enough dustbins in it. The male and female toilets and shower rooms that
provide convenience for the users are attached to the reception centre.
The whole image of the SRC is very freshening. The reception centre is decorated
with small indoor plants and the SRC is surrounded by tropical plants.
The fractal is designed as a decorative light in the reception centre. It is like a star
in the sky with warm yellow light. Users that step into the reception centre will feel
warm and welcomed. The fractal design of the decorative lights is generated by arraying
multiple triangles, first on a smaller circle and repeated on a larger circle.

This Sport and Recreation Centre is designed for the need of the users and
promote the sportsmanship among the users by providing them convenience and
satisfaction.
We collaborated with each other by attaching references and cells created by each
other onto a final file.
