Question 1

Children tend to learn everything at fast speed. Learning is a process of gaining new
experiences or transforming the existing information. Learning will be easy to be carried out if it
is obtained from the parents because that is the repeated observational learning. Children
appreciate their parents without judging them because they are the role models in their life.
Children have an ability to learn more by observing others doing any kind of work. Children
have brain like a plain white paper and learn good or bad things from what they watch around
them. First, they watch their family members, how they communicate with each other, their
lifestyle, and way of living.

I totally agree that children learn best by observing the behavior of adults and copying it.
Children spend most of their time with parents and adults at home. They copy the information
which is the most characteristic of humans and is called imitation. Psychologically the children
are into the phase of sensitive learning, they rapidly copy the behavior of their parents which is
imprinted on their minds. Sometimes the learning is the result of an event which is recorded in
their memory and by observation and repetition becomes a part of their habits.
Children may adopt many habits from the society. If they communicate with well-educated or
well-mannered people then they can learn good moral values and if their neighbourhood and
society members have some bad qualities it influences them negatively.

Children have parents who teach them and prepare them for future life. Parents are the
first teacher of the children and they have the first and strongest influence on their children.
Children observe their way of doing everything in life. People who are chain smokers or
alcoholics must know that children watch their activity and they are leaving bad impression on
the children's mind. Sometimes these activities have a deep impact on young children's brain and
heart. They learn their first lessons from these situations because it's the parents that guide them
about these situations. Children might think that smoking and taking alcohol drinks are

something that must be done in living and they will never know the negative effects of these
activities until they gain knowledge in school.

There are many examples in our daily life that show and proof that children learn best by
observing the behavior of adults and copying it. Spending time to take care of my little cousin
brother who is under the age of 3 helps me to have more experiences in this field. When my
cousin was just a little boy who still cannot communicate verbally and one of his favorite
hobbies is eating Lollipop. I know that too many Lollipops per day are not good for his teeth and
health. So, when he showed me signals that he wants more Lollipops and I often rejected it by
saying No no no no with the head an hand shaking no. At that time, I didnt realise that it was
also the first lesson I gave to him. This means that the first sentence he can pronounce to his
mother when she feed him is No no no no with the head and hand shaking like me. Although
my cousin was just having slur pronunciation, the little boy has started to learn from the adults
by observing and copying the adults' talk. This learning environment is important for the kids.

Another example is from the time my cousin got to know that everyone around him could
feed himself or herself, he started to learn how to feed himself by watching the behaviors of his
closet adults and imitating it. From these cases, we know that let children learn best by observing
the behavior of the adults and copying it. Behavior is a direct and convincing method to teach
children. Things are easier said than done. Parents always tell children those principles
repeatedly, but most children cannot accept it through these boring method. Adults behavior is
the most effective education method to let them observe the whole process of how to deal with
the problems. The children will learn from adults naturally.

There is a special case reported by the press. A baby was abandoned when she was born.
A sow fed her as a piglet. When she was about eight years old, some villagers found her, her
intelligence was just similar to the two-year old baby and all of her behaviors were looked like a
pig. From this case, we know child is a "mirror" which will reflect the behavior of the closet

adults. Along with the children's growth, adults will influence them much more, such as logical
thinking, making decision, cooperation with others and many more. The behavior of adults can
give children both good and bad influence. Most of the behaviors represent adults' inclination.
For instance, if media report chiefly on the shadow and negative side of the society, children will
easily incline to violence and excessive sex. Therefore, they will be infected with bad mental
state.

Children are like young trees, they need to be carefully irrigated, fertilised and trimmed.
Adults behavior will be greatly helpful to shape them into useful talents. There are no magic
solutions to every behavior problem, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Different kids
and different parents have their own personalities and quirks, and what works well for one family
might not work for everyone. However, I think there are still some basic tools that are essential
for any family to use. Children must feel loved and secure. Without an atmosphere of love and
support, parents cannot teach their children anything. Parents should demonstrate good behavior,
and also show kids what to do when the kids behavior isnt perfect. Friendly words and
encouragement, along with occasional and unexpected tangible rewards, are the best way to
reinforce good behavior in children.
