Title of the unit-Body parts of plants

Roots- act like straws absorbing water and minerals from the soil.
Stems do many things. They support the plant

Most plants' food is made in their leaves. Leaves are designed to

capture sunlight which the plant uses to make food through a
process called photosynthesis.

Flowers are the reproductive part of most plants. Flowers contain

pollen and tiny eggs called ovules.

Relevance of the unit

They need to conduct some experiment like marcotting. How to do
this marcotting they need to cut the tree in the body or steam put
another kind of tree then put some soil on the nuts of the tree.
Concept included
The body parts of plants is included the roots, steam, leaves and
flower. And the needs of the plants are the sunlight, water, air and soil,
Uses of plants. Plants are our food, they improve our air and they are
used to make many things that we need such as medicines, clothes
and paper. Trees are cut down and the timber used to build houses and
furniture.
Useful background knowledge
Roots- Roots act like straws absorbing water and minerals from the
soil.
Steam- Stems do many things. They support the plant. They act like
the plant's plumbing system, conducting water and nutrients from
the roots and food in the form of glucose from the leaves to other
plant parts.
Leaves- Most plants' food is made in their leaves. Leaves are
designed to capture sunlight which the plant uses to make food
through a process called photosynthesis.
Flower- Flowers are the reproductive part of most plants. Flowers
contain pollen and tiny eggs called ovules. After pollination of the
flower and fertilization of the ovule, the ovule develops into a fruit.
Instructional objectives
Label the external parts of plants
Describe the special body of the plants
Classify the plants according to steam characteristics

Needs of plant
I.

Title of the unit

Needs of the Plants
Sun
The sun provides warmth and energy for plants to survive
Soil
Soil provides a base which the roots hold on to as a plant grows bigger.
It also provides plants with water and the nutrients they need to be
healthy. In turn, some plants become healthy food for us
Air
Plants take in carbon dioxide from the air to use in the process of
PHOTOSYNTHESIS (making their own food energy) and give off oxygen
which we use.
Water
It comes from the sky as rain or snow and it flows on top of or through
soil into lakes, rivers, and streams. Water is very important to plant
growth. Water helps the plant move nutrients from the soil up through
its stems and leaves.
