SHOP DRAWINGS

GENERAL

1.1

Arrange for the preparation of shop drawings as called for in the Contract Documents.

1.2

Before submitting to the Commission's Representative, review all shop drawings to verify
conformance to the Contract Documents. This review signifies agreement that all field
dimensions, field construction criteria, construction methods, erection details, article and
equipment attachments and connections, materials, catalogue numbers and similar data
have been checked and each shop drawing has been co-ordinated with the requirements of
the Work and of the Contract Documents. Indicate review of each shop drawing by
Contractor, or his\her authorized qualified person, by stamp, date and signature.

Submit shop drawings for the Commission Representative's review in accordance with
Section 01 33 00. At the time of submission, the Contractor shall notify the Commission's
Representative in writing of any deviations in the shop drawings from the requirements of
the Contract Documents.

1.4

The Commission's Representative will review and return the shop drawings in accordance
with Section 01 33 00. The Commission Representative's review will be for conformity to
the design concept and for general arrangement only and such review shall not relieve the
Contractor of responsibility for errors or omissions in the shop drawings, or of responsibility
for meeting all requirements of the Contract Documents, unless a deviation on the shop
drawings has been approved in writing by the Commission's Representative.

Make any changes in shop drawings which the Commission's Representative may require
consistent with the Contract Documents and re-submit shop drawings unless otherwise
directed by the Commission's Representative. When re-submitting the shop drawings,
notify the Commission's Representative in writing of any revisions other than those
requested by the Commission's Representative.

1.6

Drawings submitted by the Contractor as required herein are the property of the
Commission who may use and duplicate such drawings where required in association with
the work of the Commission.

Shop drawings shall have distinct, uniform letters, numerals and line thicknesses that will
ensure the production of clear legible prints and also facilitate microfilming and reduced
reproduction.

1.8

Submissions shall be on unfolded bond paper and two (2) copies, not larger than
560 mm x 1040 mm (22" x 40") and not smaller than 215 mm x 280 mm (8%" x 11").
However, in instances where catalogue items are specified, two (2) legible copies for each
of the manufacturer's catalogue items may be submitted. Submit one (1) CD with ".pdf"
files for all items.

1.9

Shop drawings shall contain the following identification:

Applicable Contract Drawing number(s).

Applicable 6-digit Specification Section number specifying the item .

Location (facility, station, unit, level, room number, etc.) .

Name of Product.

Name of the Subcontractor or supplier.

Stamp, date and signature confirming the Contractor's review .


On submissions subsequent to the first, shop drawings shall contain the following additional
identification:

Commission's shop drawing number.

The revision number.

Identification of the item(s) revised.

Dimensions and designations of elements shown in the same system of measurement used
on the applicable Contract Drawings.

1.12

Duplicate reproductions of Contract Drawings submitted as shop drawings will not be


accepted.

1.13

The Commission's Representative reserves the right to refuse acceptance of shop drawing
submissions not meeting the above requirements.

1.14

Reviewed copies will be returned to the Contractor. If marked "Returned for Correction", a
full re-submission is required prior to commencement of fabrication. If marked "Reviewed
as Noted", fabrication can commence but a full re-submission is required. If marked
"Reviewed", no further submission is required and fabrication can commence.

1.15

No work on any items for which shop drawings are required shall commence until the shop
drawings are returned to the Contractor marked "Reviewed" or "Reviewed as Noted".

1.16

The Contractor is responsible for dimensions to be confirmed and correlated at the Site, for
information that pertains solely to fabrication processes or to techniques of construction and
installation and for co-ordination of the Work of all subtrades.

1.17

Final shop drawing submissions shall be submitted in CADD digital format in accordance
with Section 01 33 00.
