been able, where authorised, to

bring in significant improvement to
their engineering environment,
which was measurable either
through cost monitoring, quality of
product, impact upon environment
etc.

Chapter 6
Conclusion
A concluding chapter, where the applicant is
expected to tell about his own perception of
his training period, as well as any shortcomings therein, any anticipated fields of
improvement, etc.

Council expects that the candidates will

demonstrate their involvement on the various
projects by reference to data tables,
statistics, charts, engineering formula and/or
specifications, diagrams, schematic etc.

Note1 Each page of the report MUST be initialled

by the Supervisor. The Supervisor shall be
a registered Professional Engineer, qualified
in the applicants field of expertise and with
at least 4 years of qualified PostRegistration experience in engineering.

Chapter 5
Analytical Tools

Note 2 Each applicant shall submit one original and

two copies of his / her technical report and
his / her training log-book along with the
application for registration.

The Engineering process almost always end

up in a decision being taken and such
decisions can have as basis the engineers
assessment of the probability of occurrence
of some events, and the relation between
certain events and their time of occurrences,
and their time of appraisal of investments
over machinery, payback periods, etc, etc.
It is expected therefore that the candidates
for registration demonstrate that they are
familiar with techniques that are utilised in
the decision process, and know at least a
particular technique and its applications.

A last chapter of the report shall be a

summary of the competences claimed in the
training report, indexed with the core
competences required in the CRPE
Standard for Professional Engineering
Competence
The format of the competences claimed is
included in the next section. The Summary
of Competences is indexed to the
candidates assessment sheets, available for
download from the Councils website.

9:22 PM

This chapter on Analytical Tools may not

necessarily be a chapter on its own. It can
be an Appendix to the Report and consist of
a collection of formula, techniques, etc which
are better located here than in chapter 3 and
4.

Chapter 7
Summary of Competences

Candidates should develop awareness of the

use of computers within their own branch of
engineering and in particular the use of
application software in their day to day work.

Note 3 Council encourages applicants to include

their own drawings in their report. Council
will NOT accept any drawings which have
been drafted for a purpose other than the
registration
report,
unless
specific
permission from the owner(s) of the
drawings are included as part of the report.
