Section I: Goal
This MYP personal project has a pretty straight forward goal, but I will begin from where
the idea for the project first sprouted. Beginning in the second semester of my freshman year I
started playing golf again after I had stopped for probably eight or so years. I started off playing
casually on small Par three courses close to my house and immediately began to enjoy the sport
and all that came with playing it. Some of my greatest memories were made on the course and I
really wanted to stick with it. Moving into my sophomore year of high school I began playing on
larger, more challenging courses and when I heard about the MYP personal project I knew
exactly what I was going to do. I hadnt taken lessons since I was probably six years old or so
and really wanted to improve my game. This project gave me the opportunity to do so and Ive
done exactly that. This project gives me the excuse to go play golf whenever I choose to and
obviously my parents are in full support of it.
The over-arching purpose of this project is to improve my golfing ability in a drastic
fashion. My goal is to shoot under one-hundred in a round of eighteen holes on a Par 72 golf
course, which is any average golf course. The reason why I believe this goal is appropriate is
because, although I have golfed before this time, I never really was that good. This number gives
me the opportunity for vast improvement because twenty-eight over is actually very hard to do
unless you have been golfing your whole life and practice often or are on the PGA tour. The goal
is actually more challenging than some would probably recommend but I believe I am well
suited for it. The reason being is that two of my good friends, Jack Mitnitsky and Winston
Meshad who both play on the North Atlanta High School golf team are helping me out with it.
They both are extremely gifted golfers and playing with them is likely just as good as taking
lessons because its not like I am stressing to impress a coach, but more just going out and
having a nice day and learning some good stuff along the way. This makes the project that more
enjoyable and I actually look forward to continue working on it with the two.
It took me a while to figure out how I could connect global context to the project, but I
believe I was able to do it in some way, shape or fashion. This great sport is played throughout
the world in a huge number of countries. People in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and
Australia all play this great sport and I thought I could connect it through the cultural section of
the global context portion. It wasnt difficult to do this because golf is part of our great worlds
culture and I think that it is completely validated and even though it isnt really affecting the
world that Im playing golf it is still extremely relatable.

Im tired of doing this stuff every month. All in all my final project is going to be simple, but
professional and will get my completed goal across to anyone choosing to view it.
able to learn so much from working with them and believe I became a better learner through
learning from them. I was able to understand how hard work truly pays off in the end and doing a
project like this can have a lasting positive on my life. Generally speaking I enjoy learning
especially new skills and that is exactly what I did. At the end of the day I feel like this project is
a positive way to end the middle years program which is what MYP stands for and can actually
help anyone who truly cares about that project. All in all I am very proud of myself and my
project and all the work I put into it and know it will all be worth it when it comes down to it.
Finally I just want to thank everyone who helped me do it.
