The improtance of reading to children is obvious to every parent. Reading to children is
one of the best ways to put them on succes-academically and personally. The American
Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) strongly recommends reading to children every day, starting
after they are first born, because reading stimulates the development of the brain, language
and closer emotional relationship with a child.
You can start reading to children right from the moment they are born. Infants love to hear
the voices of their parents. It doesnt matter what you read. The most important thing is a
togethernes of you and your baby. As your child gets older and can understand the stories you

read, take time to ask questions, e.g. what do you think will happen next? Do you know what
this word means? Which character is your favorite? You can retell the story or make up a new
with the same characters.
Reading to children is so crucial that parents should find time to do it everyday. You will
be surprised at how creative you are at finding time to read a story to your children. Read
while waiting to see the pediatrician, having a treat at a restaurant or waiting in line at the
store. You can read a loud in the morning before school and, of course, at bed time. Read a
story while waiting for the bus or rain or once a board. Make tapes of yourself or another
familly member reading stories and play them in the car on the way to school or daycare.
Parents arent alone in understanding the importance of reading to children. Good teachers
read aloud in the classroom. Talk to your childs teacher to get suggestions for books to read
and observe the class to get tips on reading aloud. Older siblings, relatives, and friends may
also enjoy reading aloud. When your child is ready, encourage her to read aloud to youand
the rest of the family. This will pave the way for a love of reading.
20. What is the text about?
21. The parents can begin teaching to read to children...
22. What is the main idea of paragraph 3?

Garuda di dadaku
In Garuda di Dadaku, Bayu was a boy living with his widowed-mother
and grandfather. Although talented in football, Bayu was under the strict regime
of his granddad, who was deeply traumatized by the death of his son, a football
player, in poverty. The tragedy left him and old grumpy who readily shouted a
straight big NO to football. Instead, granddad sent Bayu to different courses,
from painting to math, so that he cloud find and develop his potentials in fields
other than just kicking the ball around.
Secretly, Bayu still played football and he got a massive support from his
friend, Heri, confined to a wheelchair ever since hes born. Being unable to live
his own football dreams, Heri put all his efforts and sources to ensure that Bayu
could enter the U-13 Indonesia football team, including smoothing his way to be
accepted in Arsenals Sekolah Sepakbola Indonesia (Indonesia Football
Academy). (Its a real, flesh-and-bone academy, situated in Ciputat, my hme
base). The premise is quite simple, granted, but i was entertained throughout the
film by the astonishing perfomance of the actors and actresses, especially
Ramzy, the comedianwho played Bang Dulloh, Heris chauffeur.
Some pointed out the weak points of this film: the reason why granddad
hated football so much. His views seemed to be too outdated and perculiar, he
said. I cannot fully agree; anyway, granddad was ancient and Ive met people
who earnestly hated things for reasons simpler than granddads (and I wont go
into details here). As much as I respect the peoples view, I beg to differ.

23. The text is about a movie...

24. According to the writer, his grandfathers view is....

25. Who helps the main character of the film become a football player?
E-learning
E-learning refers to the use of electronic media and information and
communication technologies (ICT) in education. E-learning is broadly inclusiveof
all forms of eductional tecnology in learning and teaching. Bernard Luskin, a
pioneer of e-learning, advocates that the e should be interpreted to mean
exceting, energetic, enthusiastic, emotional, extended, excellent, and
educational in addition to electronic. This board interpretation focuses on new
applications and developments, and also bring learning and media psychology
into consideration. Park suggested that the e should refer to everthing,
everyone, enganging, easy.
E-learning includes numerous types of media that deliver text, audio, images,
animation, and streaming video, and includes tecnology applications and
processes such as audio or video tape, satelite TV, CD-ROM, and computer-based
learning, as well as local internet/extranet and web-based learning. Information
and communication systems, whether free-standing or based learning.
Information and communication systems, whether free-standing or based on
either local networks or the internet in networks learning, underly many elearning processes.
Early e-learning systems, based on Computer-Based Learning/Training often
attemped to replicate autocratic teaching styles where by the role of the elearning system was assumed to be for transferring knowledge, as opposed to
systems developed later based on Computer Supported Collaborative Learning
(CSCL), which encouraged the shared developmentof knowledge.

Stephen Kings new Joyland mixes chills with amusement park thrills
Set in a small-town North Carolina amusement park in 1973, Joyland tells
the story of the summer in which college student Devin Jones comes to work as a

carrier and confronts the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child,
and ways both will change his life forever.
Joyland has a patina of the supernatural : ther is the ghost as well as Devins
friendship with a 10-year old disable boy named Mike, who is gifted with an
authentic psychic ability that is like touching another world. Still, for all that
this helps drive the narrative, it ultimately brings us back to Devin, to the novels
human heart.
The newest novel from the prolific Stephen King, Joyland is not what I was
excepting. We often talk about reader expection here at The book
