The following conditions apply to the VUFP scholarship:

A VUFP scholarship is a complementary scholarship. The student is responsible for financing his/her
education and living costs.

The scholarship is made available only for the period stated in the scholarship letter. In the case two-year
programmes, the VUFP committee will inform students in November what the conditions for prolongation
of the grant are for their second year,

Tuition fees will be deducted from the scholarship and be paid directly by VU International Office to the
Student Administration department. Students must sign an agreement consenting to the tuition fees rule.

Students with VUFP scholarships that do not cover the total amount of tuition fees must pay the
outstanding fees themselves.

Students must be enrolled at VU University Amsterdam in an international, English-taught degree

programme, as specified in the application procedure.

Students must register with the department of Student Administration, to whom they must provide full
details of their name and address.

Those students who are subject to a visa requirement must be able to satisfy Dutch visa requirements.

In the event a student is awarded another scholarship (e.g. an NFP scholarship), VU University
Amsterdam has the right to reduce the amount of the VUFP scholarship or to cancel it entirely.

The Faculty at which you study is required to report to the VUFP committee on the progress made by
VUFP scholarship students in the course of their studies and also on any changes that occur during this
period that could affect the grounds on which the scholarship was granted.

You must report immediately to the VUFP committee, in writing, any circumstances that are going to
prevent you from successfully continuing or completing your programme, for example:
o

if you leave the programme c.q. university before completing your degree because you have
discontinued your studies;

if you leave the programme before completing your degree and switch to another programme;

if you leave the programme c.q. university before completing your degree because of illness;

any changes in nationality.

On receiving your report, the VUFP committee may consult the Faculty. The VUFP committee may then
decide to adjust or to cancel the amount of the scholarship awarded. The amount already paid to you may
be reclaimed if you have failed to comply with the Facultys requirements (see below).

The Faculty requires that you satisfy the supplementary requirements imposed on students by the
faculty/programme, such as the obligation to attend all classes, good progress, effort, etc.
