RE: Increased demand coming
Wednesday, August 06, 2014 1:38:23 PM

Thanks for the heads up Robby!

As of now there are 3 classes scheduled per week Sat, Sun, Wed and we will monitor
registrations to see if an additional class is required to handle the volume.

Cheers,

Zach

Hey guys,
Due to an upcoming change in quality standards on UberBlack, the minimum will become
4.7. There are about 120 UberBlack partners who are between 4.6 - 4.7 who will have the
option to take the re-training class and stay active if they pass.
The communication on this is coming today (I'm sure you have some questions, they will
likely be answered in the email).
So, please expect increased demand for the class over the next couple of weeks.

Hey guys,
We are going to have a spike in deactivations this week and foresee an increase in
the number of partners who want to take the 7x7 class opportunity. Would it be
possible to offer more classes over the next couple weeks, and if so, how many
spots could we open up? Thanks!

Mark,
Thanks, that all sounds good. The icebreaker video is fine as long as you made sure
to play it all the way to the end when it displays the Nissan logo, further making it
clear that it is a Nissan video, not an Uber video. Funny way to start the class btw.
I'm still working on getting the NDA but will send it over ASAP.

Hi Robby,

Here are answers to the questions that you have raised.

1) First class target date is March 3rd . I am thinking in the early evening (6:00 or so), though we
could be flexible on the time.
2) For the prototype class, we will add a 15 -30 minute additional piece that will cover basic
professionalism and some safety tips. I am concerned that this will result in training overload and
we hope to see these classes eventually added to the list of offerings.

4) We will invoice Uber for the entire fee when Uber is subsidizing or covering the tuition. (We
will work on the mechanism during the prototype period and beyond). When the driver is
responsible for tuition, we will require a credit or debit card for payment.
5) Uber invoicing will be fine for us. We have used it in the past.

6) The Uber NDA should be sufficient as long as it effectively protects 7x7 intellectual property.
If you forward us a draft, we can make a quick determination of its effectiveness.

One other item. We show the Nissan Rogue Briefcase ad as an icebreaker in our safety training.
It starts Hi this is Kate, your Uber driver. Do you have any objections to using it in our training?
We do not have to use it if Uber finds it objectionable. (Here is a link to it on YouTube:

Mark,

Glad to hear we're on track! Could you provide a target date for the first Geo
class?

To keep things simple, why don't we start with just a Basic Geography class that
includes a 15 - 30 minute segment on Professionalism and Safety. As I mentioned
when we spoke, Geo is our most pressing need in the training department and
most of the candidates I have identified so far need that class. Once we get our
flow arranged for working together, I'm sure we can easily expand from there for
more specialized cases.

In terms of price and payment, Uber will look to transfer most if not all of the
payment responsibility to the driver. We feel that at the prices we were discussing,
the drivers will be willing to pay to keep working on the Uber platform and if they
are not, it is a good indicator that the driver should be churned anyway. That said,
we will make sure 7x7 gets paid for the prototype classes one way or another.

2. Payment: In scenarios where Uber is sharing some cost of the class, the best
transaction method would be for 7x7 to invoice Uber. I will work with Accounts
Payable on our end. We won't let this delay the pilot classes though - if invoicing
isn't possible, we will pay 7x7 whatever we owe via your partner account.

3. NDA: We're happy to sign an NDA. I will work with legal to provide Uber's
standard agreement - hopefully that is ok with you. If 7x7 gives us a form to sign,
we'll probably experience some time-costing back and forth with legal.

Thanks! Looking forward to getting this going.

Hi Robby,

I am adding Ilya and Zach to the thread.

Thanks for your note. I also enjoyed speaking with you on Wednesday, and we at 7x7 look
forward to providing the training that we identified during the meeting.

As you note below, we agreed to work on two training classes, and to get each of them ready for
a prototype class. I indicated that we will be able to have Basic Geography ready in two weeks,
and Professionalism ready in two to three weeks. We are on track for this schedule. We have laid
out the topics for each of these classes, and are now drilling down on components such as prework, class materials, quizzes and in-class exercises.

There remain a couple of business issues that need to be settled. We expect to be paid for the

RE: sign ups this week -- a new proposal!
Friday, July 25, 2014 9:57:00 AM

Sorry, I had the bands wrong, so probably misled or confused you. This is what I was trying to get
across:

In the group that gets waitlisted between 4.55 and 4.6 and then take the class, I am suggesting that
everyone be reactivated whether they pass or not. This addresses your concern on impacting driver
supply. And since this was a group that had formerly not been waitlisted, there is no negative
impact to driver quality by reactivating them, and hopefully they will improve even though they
failed the class. I see a win / win /win.

Hi - thanks! So, I'm actually already doing this. I'm not waitlisting anyone above 4.6, but for
those who are between 4.6 - 4.65 and take the class, we do not deactivate them if they F or
NP.
What I did this week was raise the threshold for waitlisting from 4.55 to 4.6 for partners who
have completed 100 trips or more. For partners who have completed less than 100 trips (but
more than 35) the cutoff is still 4.55. For those with less than 35 trips, we do nothing until
they reach 35 trips.
Btw, in terms of active drivers, the breakdown is like this:
SF: 1
LA: 1.11
DC: .88
That said, given the pace of onboarding in each city, these ratios are pretty variable.

Hi Robby,

Ive given some thought to the issue that you brought up during our phone conference on
Wednesday: the problem that if you keep the raised cutoff for drivers who are waitlisted and sent
to our class at 4.65 then it will cut into partner supply too much. Here is a suggestion: for those
partners who fall between 4.6 and 4.65, you do not have to suspend them if they fail the course.
Since these drivers would have been allowed to continue driving absent the raised standard, you
can just ignore their course results. It strikes me that there can only be a better outcome: they will
either stay the same, improve slightly, or improve as much as people who pass the course. It seems
like a win / win for Uber, partners and 7x7.
(Before you figure this out on your own, I have to acknowledge that the idea came to me because
you devised a similar solution for the Uber X New class).
The only downside is that processing results will be a little more complicated on your side.
Hopefully, you could design the change to your system and hand over implementation of it to your
contractor. Thoughts?

Hi guys,
Could you add the following to the cirriculum if it is not already included:
Be sure to drop the client off in an area that is safe for them and for your vehicle.
Do not park in places where they may open the door into a lamp post, or worse yet,
into oncoming traffic.
?
Thanks!
