In a challenging economic and business climate, organizations are forced to rethink the cost
associated with running business. The aim here is obviously to optimize costs and save capital.
Expenditure on facilities is usually the second highest, after payroll, for any business. In this
economic climate, corporate real estate and facilities management functions provide a strategic
opportunity for businesses to look for opportunities to optimize spending while still ensuring that
organizations get the most benefit out of their strategic resources - both human and property.
Corporate real estate managers are being forced to handle an increasingly complex portfolio.
This includes optimizing building occupancy, lower building operating costs, and complying with a
broad mix of legal requirements, including financial legal reporting. Commercial real estate
managers are under equal pressure to maximize building occupancy, while dealing with major
industry shifts impacting them and their tenants. Facilities and Property Management isnt just
about maintenance. Its become a complex, strategic role that requires business, leadership and
management skills in addition to technical knowledge.
Keeping this in view, this workshop has been designed to give industry professionals an insight
into the increasing importance of strategic facilities management and how it can drive productivity
and cost savings within any organization. It will also include sessions which focus on
commissioning and managing contract services and vendors, occupancy costs analysis, FM
performance and measurement, and a look into the future issues in FM.
This workshop series will enable participants to understand the ways in which CRE & FM
professionals can drive cost savings and value for money by managing people, resources and
service providers. It would also help participants leverage what they already know and learn
leading strategic practices and practical techniques that maximize the value they deliver to their
respective organizations.
