Meeting Minutes 8/24/14 Bishops Committee

1. Continuing lack of people wanting to be in
charge of things.
2. Physical plant problems
3. Special services for Ferguson 21 people in
attendance
4. Buddy walk was very successful. KTVO posted
on the walk.
Bishops Warden
1. Crowd sourcing slowing down, as expected. Letters
being written to be sent to big donors.
2. Discussion about Amazon purchases also including
a donation to Trinity.
Junior Wardens
1. Air Conditioner upstairs. A circuit was damaged by
the storm in one of the units. Possibly damaged by
storm on Thursday due to a power surge.
2. Prior meeting had authorized repairs to the air
conditioning in the vicarage. Contractor changed
specs of what was supposed, due to their change
water seepage and damage to furniture, walls and
floors. Insurance to cover repairs and that they

subrogate against Contractor. Contractor was

called and are involved in repairing damage.
Contractor still has to run gas line to new furnace.
Installation has not been completed.
Mike Ashcraft has volunteered to assist with
mowing. With rain current schedule needs to be
weekly.
Julie and Tim trimmed trees around church. Quote
was received from Nemo Tree Service approx.
$700.00 to trim trees that cannot be reached by
Julie and Tim. Krista and Julie trimmed hedges.
Julie made motion and seconded by Kevin Minch to
contract for tree and brush removal. Further
discussion Julie Seidler asked about urgency. Tim
explained that tree limbs rubbing against roof at
this time and also trees shedding limbs and other
debris. Motion passed unanimously.
Tim received quote from Fencing company for
back yard of vicarage. Deferred till later.
Junior wardens to come up with list of repairs and
deferred maintenance repairs.

Treasurer
1. Sent electronically from Krista Baker.
2. Maintenance and Miscellaneous have been overspent on the budgeted amount.
3. 64% of the budget for the year has been spent
for 57% of the calendar year.
Young Adult Ministry
1. First meeting of the fall semester is Monday
8/25/2014. Possibly 7 people would be in
attendance.
2. Trinity will not be able to go to the Truman State
activity fair. Paperwork to be filed. Michael
Ashcraft to be faculty advisor.

Old Business:
Building Campaign
1. Johnnette sent paperwork to Dan Smith, Canon of the
Ordinary. Johnnette received email from Sally
Weaver, who is in charge of the White Fund
committee, sent questions to Johnnette. Krista
received phone call from Sally on the 22nd asking for
additional information on the application and the
funds in the Trinity accounts. White Fund subcommittee is asking for an additional month to
review loan application paperwork.
2. Kevin Minch getting group to send Thank You notes
and also to generate letters to personalities for
future fund raisers. Kevin asked about fund raising
committee. Julie Seidler in charge of fund raising
committee.
Stewardship Campaign
1. Johnnette reported that Wynne and Krista were on
the stewardship committee. Krista involved with
labels but not the actual committee. Johnnette to
be in touch with Lisa Hickman.
Childrens Formation
1. Julie sent letter to Diane but not all information
required.
New Business:
Recent construction/problems
Nursery
1. Forrest Beck has indicated that she is interested in
taking care of Nursery. Motion made by Steve
Reiser and seconded by Julie Seidler to have a paid
nursery person during services. Krista to send
email to Forrest having her start.
Nominations Committee
1. Alec and Steve on the nominations committee.
Committee needs to consider coming up with 3
names.

2. Kevin Minch has many new responsibilities at

Truman. Needing to step back from Bishop
Committee Senior Warden.

1. Sept 14, 2014
Welcoming of New Students
1. Janet and Johnnette to discuss this for ATSU and
Truman.
Bishops Visit
1. 11/2/2014 All Saints Sunday
2. 8/31/2014 discuss setting up subcommittee.
