DOEACC Courses
INTRODUCTION:
DOEACC is a joint Scheme of the Ministry of Information Technology (erstwhile
Department of Electronics) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), a
statutory body for the development of technical education, including computer
education, in the country. The Scheme is administered by the DOEACC Society, an
autonomous body of the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India. The
Society is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
The objective of the Scheme is to generate quality manpower in the area of
Information Technology (IT) at the national level, by utilizing the facilities and expertise
available with the training institutions/organizations in the non-formal sector.
Under the Scheme, computer training institutions/organizations in the non-formal
sector are granted accreditation for conducting specified Levels of courses, subject to
their meeting well defined norms and criteria. These courses are at five levels, namely:

CCC - Basic Level

O - Foundation Level
A - Level equivalent to an Advanced Diploma
B - Level equivalent to an MCA Degree
C - Level equivalent to an M.Tech Degree

Students can acquire any of these qualifications under the Scheme, if they undergo the
particular Level of the DOEACC accredited course in the institutions accredited for
conducting the relevant course and are declared successful the examinations conducted
by the DOEACC Society.
Working professionals can also appear in the DOEACC examinations directly provided
they possess the prescribed relevant experience for that particular Level.
In either of the above cases, the candidates should have the requisite educational
qualification as indicated in the criteria.

DOEACC 'O' LEVEL COURSE:

The DOEACC 'O' Level is the foundation (Junior Programmer ) level course which
provides students with an insight into the operational and programming aspects of
computers . The course structure has been designed keeping in mind a student who is a
beginner in the world of computers but can ultimately be groomed as an assistant
programme, and can start a career in computer operations in various fields.
The course duration is one year and is covered in approximately 480 contact hours . It

The coverage of the course is intended to impart knowledge of the latest trends in the
IT industry in various areas such as Windows, Networking, Visual Basic, Internet and
Web Page Designing, Client Server etc It also provides an opportunity to hone and
polish programming techniques and skills .

Examinations are conducted by the DOEACC Society in January and July each year on
all - India basis . Students will take the examinations as per DOEACC norms .
Award of DOEACC Qualifications

A student will be eligible for the award of 'O' Level qualification as per DOEACC norms.
Internal Certification

As the Institute's curriculum covers a number of additional topics related to current

technologies the student shall also be awarded suitable internal certification for the
same, based on internal evaluation in addition to a course completion certificate.
Admissions

Candidates will be selected for the course on the basis of their academic
performance/interview. Selected candidates will be admitted on a first-come basis.

DOEACC 'A' LEVEL COURSE

The 'A' Level is an Advanced Diploma Level Course

The DOEACC curriculum comprises of 10 papers and one project. However the institute
provides additional coverage in order to give a distinct advantage to its students.
Accordingly the curriculum has been designed to include INTERNET AND WEB, VB,
ORACLE, DBMS, JAVA PROGRAMMING, OOPs/C++, MULTIMEDIA AND WINDOWS
2000/NT etc.
Eligibility

Undergoing graduation in any discipline

Graduate in any discipline
10 + 2 with Engineering Diploma from a Polytechnic
Examinations

Examinations are conducted by the DOEACC in January and July each year on all-India
basis. Students will take the examination as per DOEACC norms.
Award of DOEACC Qualification

A student will be eligible for the award of 'A' Level qualification as per DOEACC norms.
This qualifications is recognized by the Government for the purpose of employment and
widely accepted by PSUs , banks , MNCs and premier national companies.

DOEACC CCC COURSE
This course is designed to aim at imparting a basic level IT Literacy programme for the
common man. This programme has essentially been conceived with an idea of giving an
opportunity to the common man to attain computer literacy thereby contributing to
increased and speedy PC penetration in different walks of life. After completing the
course the incumbent should be able to the use the computer for basic purposes of
preparing his personnel/business letters, viewing information on internet (the web),
receiving and sending mails, preparing his business presentations, preparing small
databases etc. This helps the small business communities, housewives, etc. to maintain
their small accounts using the computers and enjoy in the world of Information
Technology. This course is, therefore, designed to be more practical oriented.
Eligibility:
The candidates can appear in the DOEACC CCC Examination through following three
modes and the eligibility criteria for each mode are indicated against each:
Candidates sponsored by DOEACC approved Institutes permitted to conduct CCC
Course - irrespective of any educational qualifications;
Candidates sponsored by Government recognized Schools/Colleges having obtained an
Unique Identity number from DOEACC for conducting CCC - irrespective of any
educational qualifications; and
Direct Applicants (without essentially undergoing the Accredited Course or without
being sponsored by a Govt. recognised School/College) - A minimum educational
qualification of passing Matric/High School/SSLC or equivalent;
Theory 25 Hrs.
Turorials 5 Hrs.
Practicals 50 Hrs.
Examination:
Examination for the certificate course will be conducted by the DOEACC Society initially
twice a year.
