Psalm22 v1-21

22

My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?

Why are You so far from helping Me,
And from the words of My groaning?
2
O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear;
And in the night season, and am not silent.
But You are holy,
Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
4
Our fathers trusted in You;
They trusted, and You delivered them.
5
They cried to You, and were delivered;
They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.
3

But I am a worm, and no man;

A reproach of men, and despised by the people.
7
All those who see Me ridicule Me;
They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8
He trusted in the LORD, let Him rescue Him;
Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!
6

[b]

But You are He who took Me out of the womb;

You made Me trust while on My mothers breasts.
10
I was cast upon You from birth.
From My mothers womb
You have been My God.
11
Be not far from Me,
For trouble is near;
For there is none to help.
9

Many bulls have surrounded Me;

Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.
13
They gape at Me with their mouths,
Like a raging and roaring lion.
12

I am poured out like water,

And all My bones are out of joint;
My heart is like wax;
It has melted within Me.
15
My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
And My tongue clings to My jaws;
You have brought Me to the dust of death.
14

For dogs have surrounded Me;

The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me.
They pierced My hands and My feet;
17
I can count all My bones.
They look and stare at Me.
18
They divide My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots.
16

[c]

But You, O LORD, do not be far from Me;

O My Strength, hasten to help Me!
20
Deliver Me from the sword,
My precious life from the power of the dog.
21
Save Me from the lions mouth
And from the horns of the wild oxen!
19

Matthew 27v46
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying
Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God,why hast thou
forsaken me?

Discuss- Jesus Cross Experience in relation to it being fulfilled in the

Gospels.

Answer. The Jesus Cross Experience in relation to it being fulfilled in the

Gospel is one where there is a revelation of the Old Testament coming to
life in the new testament , that is to say the words of the prophets as written
in the old Testament and the Psalm in particular has manifested when Jesus
has quoted the first few words of the well known Messianic Psalm which
clearly describes the prophecies and they were all fulfilled by Jesus Christ in
his Cross experience. In the psalm the agony of the suffering servant Jesus
Christ showed how he had to endure the pains of a fleshly body and that
God the father did not abandon his son in his sons suffering but allowed him
in his humanity or human form to experience the sense of divine
abandonment that humans often feel during times of need and especially
when in sin and sometimes when they call out to God they see no immediate
results they believe that god has abandoned us even though this is not so
and so the son of God in his humanity experienced and suffered that human
aspect of human suffering as well. Jesus died for our sins and the weight of
those sins and the feeling of abandonment must have been very heavy at
that point.
Jesus has shown that he is the fulfillment of the prophecies and that he will
be vindicated as is evident in the psalm s triumphant ending giving rise to
the fact that as long as you trust in God even though you may seem to lose
everything physical there is a victory of glory awaiting you.
Thus we can see from Jesuss Cross Experience that all the prophecies about
his coming were fulfilled some in a few days, some in one day and even
some in a few hours.

These evidences are enough to let us know that as he has fulfilled the
prophecies of the ages before his time and that he said he will come again
for a prepared people that we should trust and believe in his word because

he is God and he cannot lie and what he say he will do he will so as he has
gone to prepare a place for us so where he is we shall be there also.
