An industry leader providing

real-world training solutions.
With 11 permanent training facilities strategically located around
the world and more than 40 traveling locations, Wild Well has
provided training for more than 55,000 students across the
U.S. and the world. Our unique approach incorporating realworld Wild Well case histories and challenging simulations
ensures student engagement

Curricula developed with a focus on new adult learning

principles tied to numerous generic case histories and
simulations that continuously challenge learners

Drilling course in both Accelerated (advanced) and

standard formats

Meets the accreditation requirements of IADC and API for all

course levels (introductory, fundamental and supervisory) in
Drilling, Workover, Subsea and Well Servicing, which includes
coiled tubing, snubbing and wireline

The Ultimate Killsheet meets the demand for an electronic

killsheet that helps improve competency by offering mixed
units (Imperial/metric/SI) in real time

Staff includes more than 25 industry-certified instructors with

numerous years of field experience to allow for a diversified
first-person experience that brings the field to the classroom

Intense, hands-on simulation exercises build improved

communication and team organization skills when kicked
off with safety meetings that work to minimize well control
situations and problematic events in the field

Well Control Training

Certification Course Descriptions
Accelerated Drilling (3 day)
The Accelerated Drilling Course provides
students with the tools for developing practical
problem-solving tactics and strategies when
confronted with a well control incident;
focuses on kick detection, shut-in procedures,
calculations and standard well control methods.

Accelerated Advanced Drilling (3 day)

The Accelerated Advanced Drilling Course
is designed for students comfortable with
advanced rig processes and the calculations/
formulas used in standard drilling well control
situations. The course is taught at a faster
pace than the Accelerated Drilling Course and
focuses on maximizing simulation time. All
case histories progressively build in complexity,
making the simulations much more challenging.

Accelerated Workover (3 day)

The Accelerated Workover class reviews types
of complications that can occur during workover
operations. The course covers workover
fundamentals with a focus on understanding
well control in relation to drilling versus
workover. The class covers workover essentials
such as barriers, equipment and relevant well
control methods; it also includes an in-depth
review of Bullheading and Reverse Circulation
techniques.

Accelerated Workover (8 hour)

The Accelerated Workover course is a
condensed version of the 3-day course and
highlights the differences between Drilling and
Workover well control. This class can be taught
in conjunction with Drilling.

Accelerated Advanced Workover (3 day)

The Accelerated Advanced Workover class
is designed for students comfortable with
advanced rig processes and the calculations/
formulas used in Workover well control
situations. The course is taught at a faster pace
that the Accelerated Workover and assumes
the student has a solid fundamental knowledge
of Workover well control. the course includes a
pretest on pressure concepts and focuses on
maximizing simulation time.

Well Services
The Well Services course is taught in
conjunction with the 3-day Workover class.

Coiled Tubing (8 hours)

The Coiled Tubing course reviews well control
complications that can occur during coiled
tubing operations. The student is exposed
to various types of coiled tubing units/
equipment and the potential causes of coiled
tubing failures that can result in well control
situations.

Snubbing (5 hours)
The Snubbing class is designed to give
the student an understanding of potential
well control problems that may develop
during snubbing operation. It also provides
information for understanding the differences
between snubbing and coiled tubing
equipment, and the factors that determine
which operation should be used.

Wireline (5 hours)
Wireline courses expose the student to
the preparations and planning for wireline
operations, identification of the different
types of wireline and applications; and the
identification of wireline components and
equipment configurations.

College Fundamental Well Control (3 day)

The College Fundamental Well Control
course provides the student the means to
identify and describe the basics of: well
control equipment, different types and uses
of drilling fluids including safety practices,
pressure basics and concepts, Leak Off Test,
Formation Integrity Test, causes of kicks, kick
warning signs and detection, Hard and Soft
shut in, Lag time, well control calculations and
well control methods.

Specialty Courses
Air Drilling (4 hour)
Stuck Pipe (4 hour)
Steam (4 hour)
Geothermal (4 hour)

Accelerated
Subsea (5 hour)
The Subsea course covers well control methods
and techniques for the offshore environment.
It is designed to familiarize the student with
choke line friction pressure (CLFP) using various
sized choke lines. This course is only taught in
conjunction with the Drilling course.
