Additional Rosicrucian
Books Received At Library
Additional volumes on the sub
ject of Rosicrucianlsm have been
added to the collection ol Rosicru
cian philosophy at the local public
library.
Paul H Seib, local Rosicrucian
member, states that be has been
informed by the grand secretary
of the Rosicrucian Order, that be
cause of the demand for works on
this subject, it has been found es
sential to donate further copies to
the Ocala library.
Seib also declares 'that since the
Rosicrucian Order, known
as
AMORC, is not irreligious organ
ization, all Its publications are
treatises on philosophy, metaphys
ics, the sciences, and the artsthe
object of the organization being
to give the*student or member an

understanding of the fundamental

laws of life so as to permit him
to realize a fuller, and more abun
dant existence.
The selection of cities for the
periodic Rosicrucian conclaves is'
determined/* seib said, by the in
terest shown by the . reading
public In the organizations publi
cations and monthly periodical the
Rosicrucian Digest, in the public
libraries."
In addition to holding member
ship conclaves in such cities, ex
tensive advertising iX then con
ducted by the Grand Lodge in the
local press. The funds that make
possible the donation of the books
to the public libraries are the result
of contributions of local members
of the organization.

Readers in Hillsboro now have
access to Rosicrucian books in the
public library, according to notij fication received from the Inter

crucian Order (AMORC) in San
Jose, Calif. The following books
have been donated to the library
by the order:
Rosicrucian Questions and Ans

Order, by H. Spencer Lewis.
Sanctuary of Self by Ralph M.
Lewis.
The Rosicrucian grand secretary
states that the donation to the li

quests from local readers that the
books be made available to the
public. A yearly appropriation is
made by the Rosicrucian Order to
provide the educational, philosophical, nonsectarian works of the
organization to such public insti

Glimpse* of Future
Editor, Tribune: Having
j.jst returned from the an
nual Rosicrucian .convention
in San Jose, Calif., and inv
pressed with the * various
demonstrations along sci
entific, mystical, and philo
sophical lines, may I pre
sent a reminiscence of one of
such scientific demonstra
tions, dealing with such ordi
nary phenomena, as "color
which will certainly be of
great interest to many of
your subscribers.
In the course of various
performances at the yearly
Rosicrucian convention, one
particularly interesting sci
entific demonstration, mak
ing fabulous impressions
u p o n the delegates, was
presented on the simple
phenomena of color. It
made one wonder, how many
people know that the color
of anything is simply the
wave length of light which
bounces back when the ob
ject Is struck by light, and
that without light being
reflected, it would have no
color at all? Or, how many
people know that the colors
we can see can be affected by
our emotional states; or that
colors can have a direct bear
ing on our health and peace
of mind?
With attention to just one
small factor like this, people

can bring noticeable changes

about in their lives. And yet
there are hundreds of subtle
relationships between th e
human mind and the world
it perceives of which the
average person is unaware.
The RosUrucians at t h e i r
convention . emphasized an
awakening of these poten
tials of the mind and pre
sented sound programs for
bringing this about.
A demonstration of such
nature on such a simple
subject as common, ordinary
color, producing such pro
found, unbelievable facts,
makes, one begin to distrust
cnes own five senses. Just
ly, one may ask himself:
Are we surrounded by some
more perplexities like this
one, then the age of mir
acles is not over yet?
In the light of present-day
widespread laboratory ex
aminations
and
studies,
above described experimen
tation may provide hints and
inspiration to . these many
torturers of natures crea
tions.

Our Readers Say . . .

Dear Editor:
I thought you might be interest
ed in publishing an item of this
nature in view of the fact that
these developments are of special
interest to many people in light of
the extensive research being con
ducted along similar lines in
schools and laboratories every
where.
While ' attending the Interna
tional Rosicrucian Convention in
San Jose, California, I had the
pleasure of sitting in on some
fabulous demonstrations on the
subject of color. For example, I
wonder how many people know
that the color of anything is
simply the wave length of light
which bounces back when the Ob'*
ject is struck by light, and that
without light being reflected, it

would have no color at all? Or.

how many people know that the

With attention to just one small
factor like this, people can bring
noticeable changes in their lives.
A n d . yet there are hundreds of
subtle relationships between the
human mind and the world It per
ceives of which the average per
son is unaware. The Roslcruclans
at their convention emphasized an
awakening to these potentials of
the mind and presented sound
programs for bringing this about.

Rosicrucian
Tells Order's
History, Aim
The more we can lean from
our ancestors the better we can
understand the present nd pre
dict and cope with the future,
Arthur Piepenbrink told members
of Santa Cruz Exchange club yes
terday.
Piepenbrink is grand regional
administrator of the Ancient and
Mystical order of Rosicrucians,
which has its international head
quarters at San Jose.
He told the clob memben at
the Palomar hotel noon meet
ing his organization has a tra
ditional beginning In ancient
Egypt. Actual organization be
gan in the tenth century A.D.
The movement came to the
United States in 1915, and the
San Jose headquarters was es
tablished in 1927.
___

Piepenbrink explained that the

organization is a fraternal, not a
religious group. It works through
private instructions and closed
meetings,
lie stressed that the

organization attempts to instill a

sense of inquiry into its mem
bers which will allow them to as
similate facts for development of
a personal philosophy of life.
The more a person knows
about life and himself, the bet
ter able he Is to control hii en
vironment, he said. It is out
of this sense of inquiry that
the development of our civili
zation has come about.
At the meeting, James Snyder
was inducted into the club.
Next Wednesday noons meet
ing will be held in the Cabrillo
college cafeteria and will be fol
lowed by a tour of the campus.
The board of control will meet
Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the resi
dence of Arthur Simpson, Felton.

KOSICUlCIAN CONVENTION
j

Editor: Hawnt: recently attended the six day iHbd International 1

I Rosicmeian convention in San
.lose, I would like to relate that
one of the outstanding events wa&
a demonstration presented by
physicist Erwin Watcrmeyer. He
started out with ordinary sounds,
the kind we hear every day. Then
he analyzed them and dem on
strated the tremendous potential
ol sound in space, in medicine, in
ihe various sciences. Sonic heat,
sonic booms, sonic rays all hocame excitingly new concepts for
us lie particularly stressed the
relationship ol sound or sonic im
pulses to the cm uious centers of
ihe hum an hrain where these
impulses take on meaning.
A Rosicrucian convention is
|unique in those times. Every
! moment is dedicated to tho fu r
therance of tho m em bers know l
edge of themselves and the u n i
verst* in which they live. Lec
tures on philosophy, science, art,
and mysticism were presented a l
most hourly every day of the sixdav session.
Demonstrations of physiologi
cal and psychological subjects
wore related to the welfare and
' happiness of the individual. The
|phenomia of sound, color, lig h t,

and magnetism were discussed

with as much depth as were those
of human behavior, extrasensory
perception, and philosophy,

fraternal initiations and convo

TELLS OF ANNUAL
ROSICRUCIAN SESSION
Editor: Privileged to have par
ticipated in the activities of the
annual International Convention
of Rosicrucians at the world-reknown headquarters in San Jose,
one desires to share its inspira
tional benefits with ones fellow
man.
There was n dramatic presen
tation of an incident in the life
of the controversial Paracelsus,
the celebrated mystic whose wis
dom and foresight were misunder
stood by his contemporaries,
which the members will long re
member. Demonstrations on many
psychic Jaws were presented to
members which will benefit them
in many ways as they in turn are
utilized, laws not readily under
stood or accepted by the masses.

Authenticity of the Rosicrucian

Order, AMORC, was established
by the showing of documents from
the archives. Devoted to further
instruction in philosophy, mysti
cism, the arts and sciences, the
convention attracts outstanding
personages from all over the
world. It is gratifying to grip the
hand of persons from other lands
and share a deep sense of brother
hood. Not a few of the members
took advantage of the close prox
imity to visit Santa Cruz, and to
remark on their pleasure and im
pression of its beauty and appeal.
Many of them promise to make it
part of their annual visit to the
convention.
I felt so proud of our lovely

at the home of Hyram Coueyl

The ceremony will be fol

Mallet explained that the
Great Pyramid was not just a
burial place for a vain pharoah
but was actually a temple of
initiation for candidates for the
ancient mystery schools.
He said that since the Rosi
crucians traced their traditional
origin to these mystery schools
the annual pyramid ceremony is
held to commemorate this event
and to rededicate themselves to
the realization of their high
ideals.

The native Jordanian, indicted for the murder
of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, several months ago
applied for membership by letter to the San Jose

The Rosicruclan Order, largest of several Rosicrucian societies, claims It dates back to 1350
B.C. During the reign of Egyptian Pharoah Akhnaton. However, it was founded in 1109.
The organization maintains at San Jose a uni

Egyptian, Assyrian and Babylonian artifacts.
BETH HOLDER, Rosicruclan public relations
director, said the worldwide organization expounds

"a system of metaphysical and physical philolophy

that is intended to awake the dormant faculties of
an individual whereby he may utilize his talents
and become more aware of the world around him
and lead a more useful life.
From his jail cell, Sirhan also requested two
books on theosophy - which expert Boris de Zirkoff of Los Angeles said often is defined as "wlsdom-rel Igioo."
The books were "Talks On At The Feet Of The
Master By C. W. Leadbeater and "The Secret
Doctrine" by Madame H. P. Blavatsky, founder
of the theo9ophical movement in America.
De Zirkoff emphatically disputed two reports on
network television programs that Mme. Blavat
