Galatians 2 translation and notes

Then during/after fourteen years

Again I went up to Jerusalem with Barnabas

taking with me also Titus

And I went up now because/according to a revelation

,
and I set forth to them the gospel which I preach to the Gentiles/nation
,
that is according to oneself/in private to the reputable ones
.
Lest somehow in vain I might be running or had run

,
But not even Titus, who/the one with me
,
Being Greek

was forced to be circumcised

,
But through secretly brought in false brothers

who (pl) slipped in to spy out our freedom
,
which we have in Christ Jesus

in order to (they will) enslave us

to whom not even for an hour we yielded in subjection
.
in order that the truth of the gospel might continually remain with you

,
But from those reputed to be something

-
Of what(ever) sort they have been it does not make a difference to me

God does not receive a face of a man
,
for to me the reputable ones contribute nothing

But these saw

that I have been entrusted with the gospel for the uncircumcised

 ,
just as Peter has been entrusted with the gospel for the circumcised

For the one who was at work through Peter by apostleship to/for
the circumcision
,
was also at work in me (by apostleship) for the gentiles

And they acknowledged the grace given to me

,
James and Peter and John
,
The ones reputed to be pillars
,
gave the right hand of fellowship to me and Barnabas
,
in order that we for the gentiles

and they for the circumcision.

Only the poor in order to continue remembering (Acts 11?-please go on remembering)

Which also I was eager myself this to do

But when Peter came to Antioch
,
I opposed him to his face

Because he was/had condemned (himself)

For before certain ones came (to come) from James,

with the gentiles he was eating
,
but when they came

He withdrew and separated himself

Fearing those of the circumcision

And they joined in the hypocricy (acting falsely was it as we now know it as a dead metaphor) with
him
[] ,
Also the rest of the Jews
.
So that even Barnabas was carried away with their (play acting) hypocricy

But when I saw that they were not acting rightly (walk in a straight line towards walking together?
Is it a metaphor? The goal of the gospel as a goal to be pursued philemon 6 and eph 6 growing to
this goal of the gospel) towards the truth of the gospel

I said to Peter, in the presence of all

if you a Judean being like a gentile
,
and not like a Judean (to) live,

;
how/why do you compel the gentiles to Judaise (a jew could not do
this)?

(For we who are) we who are by nature Jews and not sinners from among the gentiles.

But/yet knowing that man is not justified (right wised!) from works of the law
,
If not/except through the faithfulness of Jesus the Messiah
(explicative) ,
even we have trusted in Jesus the Messiah

in order that we are/might be justified (made right) from the faithfulness of
the Messiah
,
and not from works of the law

 .
because from the works of the law all flesh will not be
justified (made right)

But if seeking to be declared righteous in the Messiah

we are found
,
also sinners ourselves
; .
then is the Messiah an agent of (our) sin? May it never be!

For if, these things again I build up which I destroyed

.
I demonstrate/prove myself a transgressor

19 ,
For I, through the law, died to the law
.
In order that I would/might live to God

I have been crucified with the Messiah

20 /positive? ,
But I live (positive), I no longer


But the Messiah lives in me
,
And now that I live in the flesh

(in faithfulness) I live in/by (faith, by) the faithfulness of the Son of God who
loved(s) me
.
And gave himself up for me

I do not declare null the grace of God
,
for if through the law comes righteousness
.
then the Messiah died for no purpose
