Research Environment

The study was conducted in innodata philippines incorporated located in


subangdako, mandaue cuty, cebu, philippines. The respondents were gathered in
a multi-purpose room which was permitted by themanagement to be used by the
researchers for a mean time. Ipi is the premiere provider of digital content
outsourcing service building relationships with clients, by creating and managing,
on behalf of their clients large scale high-value digital content for the web,
corporate intranet, and other digital environment.

Research Respondents
Respondents were 50 encoders selected by systemic sampling from a
target

population

of

1000

computer

of

philippines

incorporated. A sample size of 100 was determined using the slovins formula.
Inclusion criteria
The respondents are males/ females who are working 8 hours/day for 5
days in a week, who have worked in the company for at least 6 months or more.
Exclusion criteria
Those who work 8 hours/day for 5 days in a week which has been in the
company for ony less than 6 months.

Research Instrument
This study utilized a researcher-made survey questionnaire to assess the
occurence of neck pain. The questionnaire was written in english and
constructed in such a way it would determine the level of occurence of neck pain
and the subject were only asked to check those problems that they have
experienced. To ensure the reliability of the data, the questionnair was
individually distributed during their free time so that the respondents hae ample
time to read and check the questionnaire according to their sated answer. The
questionnaire consisted of the common complaints and their possible causes.
For neck pain, choices (a) refer to improper body mechanics; choice (b)
proonged activity; choice (c) repetitive movements; choice (d) temperature
extremes.
The short-form 36 health survey is a patient-reported survey of patient
health. It includes one multi-item scale that assesses eight health concepts: (1)
physical functioning; (2) role limitations because of physical health problems; (3)
bodily pain; (4) social functioning; (5) general mental health (psychological
distress and psychological wellbeing); (6) role limitations because of emotional
problems; (7) vitality (energy/fatigue); and (8) general health perceptions. Te
survey was constructed for self administration, and for administration by an
experienced interviewer in person. In a study about validation, the response rate
for the SF-36 questionnaire was high (83%) and the rate of completion for each
dimension was over 95%. Considerable evidence was found for the reliability of
the SF-36.
