Disable ESP
Description: This is not considered safe. The ESP in the MK6 is very good and not too obtrusive.
That said, if you want to take the risk and turn it off, this is the only known way to accomplish
that.
Go to Adaptation in the Steering Assist module
Go to Channel 09
Set new value to 1
Discussion: Really turning off ESP
Hill Hold Control
Description: Hill hold control (assist) is where the car will apply the brakes on a hill when
stopped. It will occur if facing up hill with the car in a forward gear, or if facing downhill in
reverse. Modifying this setting changes when the brakes release. You can also disable it
completely.
To change the HHC setting:
Go to Adaptation in the ABS module
Choose "Hill Hold Control (HHC)"
Set new value to: 0 for normal (stock setting), 1 for early (start with low RPM's), or 2 for late
late (start with high RPM's and slipping clutch)

Adjusting Service Intervals
Description: Do you change your oil more often than every 10k miles and would prefer it tell you
at 5k miles? That's what this is for.
For Days:
Go to Adaptation in the Instruments module
Choose "SIA - maximum value of time to service"
Under New value, enter your time as in days. '

car with the remote

Go to Byte 3 and check Bit 5 - Comfort Operation via Remote Control Active
Checking Bit 0 - Comfort Opening for Sliding Roof Active will also open the moonroof while opening the
windows via the remote fob. I did not activate this setting.
NOTE: This may not work. Apparently some update from the dealer that deals with the fan running after
the car is shut off affects this coding. See http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...control-on-Mk6 for
more information.
Press and HOLD the lock button on your fob to close all the windows. HOLD until all windows are closed or
until preferred height.

taking key out of the ignition.
I guess this would save your battery in case you forgot to turn the light switch to off, but I am not 100%

I think this just showed up in the latest version of VCDS. Maybe it was there before and I missed it. Either way, this is very interesting!
The Torque Steer Compensation (TSC) is only being activated for Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD) Models which have a high powered Engine. This Function
prevents the Car from leaning into one Direction while Accelerating in Combination with powerful Engines and unequal Lenghts Drive Shafts.
The pic below says it's enabled for at least the FWD VR6 Passat. So the VR6 Passat lays down about the same HP as a stage 2 GTI. I wonder if this is
of benefit for tuned GTI's? I'm going to have to try this out. Anybody with K04 want to give it a shot?
With the torque steer settings at 1, I was able to run into second gear as well. The wheel does not pull to the right, even with no
hands. It kind of floats there, as you can see in the vid. I did 5 full runs like this, all the same. Even 1 run where I got wheel hop. It
never pulled.
I will be keeping this setting unless I notice some negative side effect in the steering. I did do some accelerating through a couple of
corners and it seemed normal, but I really need to drive around for real to see better. I can't see this being a bad thing though.

B. RUN TYPE / DRIVING TECHNIQUE
Runs need to be at Wide-Open Throttle, 4th Gear, from 1500 rpm rolling start to redline (fuel shutoff).
Note: All runs need to be in the same gear at Wide-Open Throttle for the entire run between 1500 rpm
and fuel shutoff.
C. NUMBER OF RUNS NEEDED
Minimum of 4 runs for the Vag-Com items I outlined below...one for each logging "round" as shown below
in section "VAG-COM BLOCKS TO LOG".
Note: all runs should be done on the same stretch of road; the engine should be up to full operating
temperature before logging; the cool down time needed between runs will be handled when the customer
turns around to reposition himself for next run on the original stretch of road used for the first run.
D. VAG-COM / COMPUTER SETUP:
The data should be logged using Advanced Measuring Blocks in the Engine Controller
The "Turbo" mode should be activated to ensure a decent data sampling rate
The data returned to APR should be in raw numerical form (not graphs). Vag-Com will export the data in
a .csv format. This is what we need. Please have them title each file like "2006_B7_K04_91_oct_4thgearwot_run1", "2006_B7_K04_91_oct_4thgear-wot_run2" and so forth.
Note: If you data sample rate is low, especially if you have no Turbo Mode option with the Micro Can
cable, return to the home screen, click Options and change BLK INT to 25 and CHAR INT to 0.
