Technology Integration in Lesson Plans

Online Professional Development Workshop


Syllabus

Goal
Participants in this workshop will be provided with knowledge of International
Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and Atlanta Public Schools Technology
Standards. They will acquire tools for integrating technology into lesson plans.
Description
This is an online professional development workshop for teachers. As a result of
attending, participants will be able to identify the ISTE and APS technology
integration standards, and identify strategies for technology integration in
instructional design.

Participants in this workshop will be able to

Identify the technology integration standards of ISTE and APS


Modify traditional units of instruction for technology integration

Activities
This online tutorial is asynchronous participants progress through each module at
their own pace within the span of a specific week. Modules should be completed in
the order shown. The tutorial will be posted on Monday of the selected week, with a
due date of Friday for completion of all modules. The facilitator will respond nightly
to discussion posts and project submissions.

Workshop Assessment Follow-Up Activity


Participants will be asked to complete a survey within one week of the workshop,
via Survey Monkey. The survey responses will be used to determine whether the
objectives of the workshop were met.
Expectations

Pre-Workshop Communications: The facilitator will post all requisite readings


in each Module.
Participation: Participation and task submission is mandatory for successful
completion. Failure to post an introduction results in a status of Did Not
Attend for the participant.
Facilitator/Participant Interaction: Participants are expected to utilize email for
any pre- or post-workshop communication with the facilitator. All e-mails will
be responded to within 24 hours.
Honesty Policy: Participants are expected to maintain honesty and integrity
in their interactions. Substituting another individuals work on behalf of a
participant is a clear violation of expectations.
Technology: Attendees will need access to the internet and email. Failure of
technology is not a valid reason for unmet assignments.
