Diffusion
The rate of diffusion of the particles in experiment II is faster
than that in experiment I.
(a)(iii) The higher the temperature, the higher the kinetic energy of the
particles will be, and this makes the rate of diffusion faster.

During melting, the heat which is supplied is absorbed to
overcome the forces of attraction between the naphthalene
molecules.
(d)

1) The atom contain one proton and one neutron which in

the
nucleus
2) The nucleus is at the centre of the atom
3) The electron move around the nucleus
4) The electron has a negative charge// there is one
electron //
the valence electron is 1 // the electron arrangement is
1
1)Both atoms have l proton // same proton number
2)The new atom has an extra neutron// Nucleon
number will change to 3.
3) The physical properties of the new atom is slightly
different
from atom X.
4) They have the same chemical properties
5) The atoms are isotopes.
6) The same numbers of electron
7) Same number of occupied shell

1) Chemical required : Liquid bromine

2) Procedure :i) A few drops of bromine are placed into a gas jar.
ii) The gas jar is immediately covered and set aside for few
minutes.
iii) Another gas jar is inverted on top of the gas jar which
contains the bromine vapour.
iv) The cover between the gas jars are removed
v) The apparatus is set aside for few minutes and the
observation is recorded
3) Observation.
The brown vapour spreads quickly throughout the two gas jars in
a few minutes
4) Conclusion
Bromine gas is made up of tiny and discrete particles
