3. SUMMARY
This document introduces you to upload a patch to a network element which belongs to
the table above. The patch solves the problem that few network elements may lose
communication to management system after running a period. No way to access this node,
including MGMT port and console port. But the traffic will not be interrupted. Only reset the
system controller card can solve the problem.
4. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Products listed in the table above, have low possibility to lose communication to
management system after running a period. Neither MGMT port, nor Console port can be
accessed. But no traffic outage happens. The only way to restore the communication is to
reset the system controller card
This problem is caused by CPU. All these products use the same type of CPU. When CPU
is running the software, it would be halt if the floating point units are used.
In order to resolve this issue, a new boot image was planned to be released in hiT 7035
R4.2.2 and hiT 7060 R3.4.3 as the solution. Unfortunately, it is missed in both releases.
So patch files are provided to solve this CPU halt issue.
5. SOLUTION / INSTRUCTIONS
The new boot image will be included in next MTC load of hiT 7035 R4.2 and hiT 7060 R3.4.
If needed, the new boot image also can be uploaded into the hiT 7035 R4.2.2 and hiT
7060 R3.4.3 in the field manually.
For every kind of released product, please find the related patch in the zip file below.
