Ever since I was a child, my parents have told me how I must study and recognize

the importance of my education in life; my education will get me through my life,

the hard times, and help me to solve any problem that I may come across. My
parents helped me to better my education and always bought me new books to
read. As a result, I learned to read at three years old.
My parents bought me all kinds of books: comics, language books, novels for
children, etc. One day my parents brought home a strange book which contained a
concept I had never seen before. The material was based on mathematics. They
told me that my life would always be linked to equations and numbers and that it
was very important that I learned the different theories that define mathematics.
Therefore, at just four years old, I learned how to subtract, add, and multiply.
Few years passed and I entered school. I did so well in mathematics that I learned to
love it. In the ninth grade, I was introduced to the subject of physics. I fell in love
with it after the first class and began practicing the math involved in my free time. It
became one of my favorite hobbies and one of the most important parts of my life.
As of right now, I want to study the concepts of physics and mathematics in college.
I want to have a career centered on the complexity of the mathematics involved in
our world; therefore, I have highly considered studying engineering.
In Chile I have participated in many activities involving engineering and physics. I
have taken math classes in two of the most highly acclaimed universities in Chile:
Universidad Catlica (The Catholic University), and Universidad de Chile (The
University of Chile). Visiting these universities, I learned a lot about science and how
it plays a huge role in our lives.
I am very well educated in science, and I have a broad knowledge when it comes to
math and physics. I want to apply the skills that I have in the every-day life. One of
the passions I have always had for my future is to help to improve environmental
defects and ideas involved with alternative energy (I have built a solar heater for
one of the many science projects I have been involved in).
If I could travel to another country to learn about the culture, the people, the
different ways of life, it would be a dream come true. I want nothing more than to
exchange ideas and knowledge with people from other countries who think
differently and see things in a different light. It would be an absolutely incredible
experience to spend a month in the United States learning and interacting with
people and new ideas.
