From Lisbon
to Quinta dos Lagos
Lisbon is the European capital with the largest green
natural area around its urban limits. From the airport, 10
min away from the city centre, one takes the Vasco da
Gama Bridge and reaches the Reserva Natural do
Esturio do Tejo (Tagus Estuary Natural Reserve). Here,
the protected landscape of the Lezria (marshlands)
unfolds before one's eyes. Overall, it takes about 40
minutes to get to Quinta dos Lagos, across beautiful
natural and protected landscapes.

Lama Jigm Namgyal


O Lama Jigm Namgyal nasceu numa famlia nmada na
regio de Golog, situada na parte leste do Tibete, onde
estudou a filosofia budista desde muito novo. O seu
professor de raiz foi Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok, com o qual
estudou na Universidade de Serthar Larung Gar.
Depois de consultar os seus mestres, o Lama Jigm
Namgyal decidiu deixar o Tibete e partir para a Europa.
Este foi um passo muito grande, uma vez que no falava
nenhuma lngua europeia e desconhecia a cultura ocidental.
Enquanto trabalhava para ganhar a vida, rapidamente
aprendeu ingls e comeou a compreender a cultura
europeia. No Luxemburgo, fundou o Centro Cultural
Tibetano e, nos Pases Baixos, em Roterdo, fundou um
centro de estudos budistas - Phuntsok Ch Ling. Alm de
ensinar meditao e budismo, o Lama Jigm tem uma vasta
experincia no acompanhamento espiritual das pessoas em
fim de vida e muito ativo no dilogo inter-religioso.
Sempre com um grande sentido de humor, sabe criar uma
ligao prxima, aberta e direta com os seus alunos
ocidentais e comunicar-lhes uma experincia para alm das
palavras.

Lama Jigm Namgyal


was born into a nomad family in Golog, in the eastern part of
Tibet, where he studied Buddhism from a young age. His root
teacher was Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok, with whom he studied at the
university of Serthar Larung Gar.
After consulting his teachers, Lama Jigm Namgyal decided to
leave Tibet for Europe. This was a huge step, since he didnt
speak any European languages, nor did he know anything about
European culture. While working to earn his living here, he
quickly learned English and gained insight into the culture.
He founded the Tibetan Cultural Centre in Luxembourg
and another centre in Rotterdam (Phuntsok Ch Ling).
Apart from being a teacher of meditation, Lama Jigm
has much experience in spiritually accompanying the
dying and is also deeply interested in interreligious dialogue.
Through his pithy sense of humour, he is able to connect
with his Western audience in an open and direct way.
He has the unique gift of communicating an experience
beyond words.

Quando nos deparamos com vrios problemas ou com


fatores relacionados com o stress nas nossas vidas, o
resultado so tenses associadas nossa mente. Nesses
casos precisamos de ter um mtodo atravs do qual
possamos ser capazes de ultrapassar as preocupaes e
ansiedades que nos perturbam. Esse mtodo -nos dado
pela meditao, que se baseia numa verdadeira cincia
da mente. Quando, atravs da meditao,
compreendemos de que modo funciona a nossa mente,
no nos deixamos levar por pensamentos e emoes.
Podemos assim redescobrir o nosso centro e encontrar
um espao interior de tranquilidade profunda, paz e
felicidade. Embora este mtodo de meditao esteja
ancorado nos ensinamentos Budistas, benfico para
todas as pessoas, independentemente das suas crenas.
A prtica regular da meditao traz grandes benefcios
para a nossa mente e o nosso corpo, a nossa relao
com a famlia e os amigos, bem como no ambiente
profissional.

When we face various problems or stress-related factors


in our lives, this often results in tensions linked to our
mind. What we need in such cases is to have a method
whereby we can overcome the worries and anxieties that
disturb us. Such a method is provided by meditation,
which is based on a true science of the mind. When
through meditation we understand the way our mind
works, we are no longer carried away by our thoughts and
emotions. We can thereby rediscover our centre and find
an inner space of profound repose, happiness and peace.
While this method of meditation is anchored in the
Buddhist teachings, it can benefit those coming from any
religious background or from none.
The regular and sustained practice of meditation has farreaching benefits for our mind and body, for our
relationships with our family and friends, as well as for
our work.

Chi Kung significa energia (Chi ou Qi) e habilidade, treino (Kung ou
Gong), ou seja, treino e desenvolvimento da energia (do corpo humano). O
Chi Kung (QiGong) uma prtica teraputica em que se realizam exerccios
que combinam movimentos suaves e respirao controlada, na qual a
ateno e a visualizao do praticante esto concentradas nas vrias partes
do corpo, de modo a alterar o fluxo de energia.

Visita guiada e Jantar no EVOA uma experincia nica
EVOA
Localizado no corao da mais importante zona hmida de Portugal, o
Esturio do Tejo, o EVOA Espao de Visitao e Observao de
Aves permite que os visitantes conheam e desfrutem do patrimnio
nico, existente entre a lezria e o esturio do Tejo.
No EVOA esto integradas trs zonas hmidas de gua doce, num total
de 70 ha, estas lagoas so muito importantes para as aves, sendo
utilizadas como rea de refgio ou mesmo como local de nidificao.
De modo a garantir a tranquilidade das aves e a maximizar a
experincia e conforto na visitao, esto disponveis trs observatrios
nas lagoas, diversos pontos de observao camuflados e um Centro de
Interpretao.

EVOA
EVOA is situated in the Natural Reserve of the Tagus
Estuary, which is included in the Natura 2000 network
since 1980 and is recognized as a wetland of international
importance (Ramsar Site). The visitor can enjoy the wild
birds, mostly in three freshwater wetlands, with 70 ha,
created by the project and managed for birds. The
necessary tranquillity and convenience for visitors are
guaranteed through
hidden trails and hides that are strategically located.
The Visitor Centre offers a pleasant experience of
visitation. It leads visitors to know the birds, the
estuary and the lezria and to participate in various
interactive activities. In addition to the exhibition area,
the centre has a multi-purpose auditorium and a
cafeteria where visitors can enjoy the space and the
beautiful scenery.
