Town Board Moments

Village Board Moment

1. Citizen Concerns a.
Al Drake County
Legislator with information
about the Countys plan to
raise the county sales tax
rate from 73/4 percent to
8% percent if approved by
the State. The local
municipalities would
receive more money.
B. The roads to be
exchanged are Co.
Rt.194 Main St. within the
Village for the Town Line
Rd. out of Spragueville up
to the Farm to market
road. The County needs a
resolution of agreement
from the Town. The Town
will be working with the
Village to fix the sidewalk
in front of the post office
area and also take care of
a drainage problem,
which still exists near 19
Main St. After agreeing to
address these problems,
motion was made and
carried to accept the
exchange of roads
between the County and
the Town.

Public Hearing on
comments of the Village
Budget ending May 2016
took place. During new
business, the budget was
adopted.

dirt pile that the county
was to take care of. The
county has started on
some of the removal.
2. DPW Report - They
have been busy
addressing water issues
as well as beginning to
clean the streets.
3. Spring cleanup May
11-15th. The items to be
picked up are bagged
leaves, brush with butt
end facing street,
lumber no longer than 4
in length, and metal.
4. A public hearing on
May 13 at 6:45 pm for
the purpose of hearing
comments regarding the
proposed water and
sewer usage rates with
the regular meeting to
immediately follow.
5. The board accepted
the fire department
application of John
Buneta pending the
standard background
checks.

Antwerp's Crosby Public
Library by voting for
increase in funding at the
Indian River Central School
District Budget Vote at the
District Office. It would only
cost somewhere near $1.70
per year for the average
taxpayer but it would add
up to an extra $5,000 per
year for our library and will
help us with our automation
and construction projects.
