First can i just say this site is great, and I am finding lots of usefull information on here, but cant

seem to find anything on


a problem i have with my abs. The fault code 5131 ( Internal supply / servo solenoid valve circut ). I am wondering if air
traped in the abs modulator would cause this.
Can you tell me how you translate the original fault code given (5131) to DF185 ?

Workshop instructions don't list any four digit DTC. All DTC's are DF followed by a 3 digit code. DF185 has same description
as threadstarter's 5131.
DF185/ 5131 Brake servo solenoid valve circuit/ internal feed.
THIS IS FOR VDIAG 08 & 0C
check the car if has System equipped with Electric Brake Assist Emergency
check parameter screen PR041 and tell which is A0,B0,D0,E0 E1
if yes is A0,B0
Check the condition and correct connection of the servo plug.
Check the connection and condition of computer connector and 6 contacts to the servo.
Check to ensure electrical continuity at the following links:
- Connector 4 servofrenouepafi contact 17Fis computer
- Connector 3 servofrenouepafi contact 31Fis computer
Ensure also the insulation between these connections.
Visually check the wiring of the brake booster.
Check the resistance of servofrenouR = 2 Z. If the resistance is not correct, replace the servo.
Ensure that no voltage + 12 V after mains switch on the brake booster between the contact 4 and body.
If the voltage is incorrect, contact the Technical Support Department (Techline).
If all checks are OK, reconnect the computer and the servo and then turn off the faults of computer memory.
Replace the SERVO if the fault reappears.

the abs stop:serv lights are on in my 51 plate renault laguna it has been in renault diagnostics & reads df185
internal supply/servo solenoid valve circuit. does anyone have any pointers as i cannot afford to just let
renault spend money on it as they were not 100% certain of what the problem was?

To extend the control range of the pressure control in a brake system which is equipped with a brake power booster that is operable irrespective of the driver's
wish, preferably electromagnetically, according to the present invention, the hydraulic pressure introduced into a master brake cylinder connected downstream of
the brake power booster is determined and, following a comparison with a preset pressure value signal, is sent to a pressure controller having an output quantity
which corresponds to a control current for the solenoid and is supplied to a limiter that determines the limit values of the desired control range, and the output
quantity of the limiter is compared with the value of the current supplied to the solenoid. Subsequently, the comparison result is sent to a current controller which
generates the voltage to be applied to the solenoid.
