Todays Game: After Fridays postponement, the Generals travel south the Montgomery to take on the
Biscuits...It is the first of a five-game series between these teams at Riverwalk Stadium, and the first meeting
between the clubs in 2015...Montgomery is fourth in the North Division with a 7-8 record after falling 2-1 to Mobile
on Friday...Jackson sends RHP Dylan Unsworth (0-2, 7.00 ERA) to the mound against Montgomerys Jaime Schultz
(1-0, 1.84 ERA), who leads the Southern League with 24 strikeouts.
Versus Montgomery:
This is the first of 20 regular season meetings between the Generals and
Biscuits this season...With Biloxi (formerly Huntsville) moving to the South Division, Montgomery is a part of the
North Division with Jackson in 2015...The Biscuits travel to Jackson at the end of May, and the teams play a pair
of series in the Second Half as well...The two squads split 20 meetings last year. Leon Landry hit .380 (19-for-50)
with seven doubles, two triples, a home run and six RBIs against the Biscuits in 13 games.
Jackson outfielder Dario Pizzano, who celebrates his 24th birthday today, has led
Jackson offensively over its recent games. Pizzano went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and his first home run of the season
on Wednesday. That was just the second three-hit game for a General this year after D.J. Peterson went 3-for-6 on
April 17 against the Mississippi Braves. After a sixth-inning single on Thursday, Pizzano extended his team-best
hitting streak to six games. Over that stretch, he is hitting.375 (9-for-24).
Generals pitchers have been uncharacteristically wild in their last two outings. Jackson has yielded season highs in walks in back-to-back games, issuing eight free passes on Wednesday
and 12 more in Thursdays contest. Dylan Unsworth, tonights starter, walked just 19 batters in 119.1 innings of
work last year with High Desert. The staff had issued only 23 walks in the teams first 11 games of the season the best in the Southern League at that time - but Jackson has now dropped back to fifth with 43 total bases on
balls.
Is It Monday Yet?:
Jackson does not have any weekend victories this season, going 0-5 overall from
Friday through Sunday with multiple losses already on Friday and Saturday. However, the Generals have opened
weeks well with perfect marks of 1-0 on Mondays and Tuesdays and an overall record of 4-3 from Monday through
Thursday.
Up to Speed:
With four stolen bases on Thursday, the Generals have matched the Mississippi Braves as the
circuits co-leaders in steals. Both teams have 15 stolen bases apiece entering Fridays action. Most of Jacksons
steal have come in this divisional series with Tennessee, posting nine thefts over the their last four games. Individually, infielder Jack Reinheimer shares third place in the league with four stolen bases.
Power Outage:
Jacksons three home runs thus far in 2015 are tied for the fewest among Southern
League teams. Thats a surprise considering what many of these players did in 2014. The team features four hitters that surpassed 15 long balls: Gabriel Guerrero (18), Jordy Lara (26), Jabari Henry (30) and D.J. Peterson (31).
Guerrero and Lara were two of just seven minor league players to hit .300 with 90 runs scored, 45 extra-base hits
and 90 runs batted in, while Peterson was one of five to hit 30 home runs while driving in more than 100.

Recap: The Smokies earned their second win in a row against Jackson in a 9-2 victory at The Ballpark at Jackson...For the
second consecutive game, Jackson allowed a season-high in walks (12)...The Generals loaded the bases without any hits in
the bottom of the seventh (two walks, hit batter) but popped out with the potential tying run at the plate...On the games very
next pitch, Kyle Schwarber launched a solo home run to increase Tennessees lead to 7-2...Smokies starter Felix Pena tied a
professional career high with eight strikeouts, all coming within an 11-batter stretch from the second through fifth innings
