Clinical Objectives
Urgent Care
Essential I: Background for Practice from Sciences and Humanities
Throughout the course of the semester I shall strive to better integrate my masters level
education in pharmacology, health assessment, and pathophysiology to provide an
advanced level of direct patient care. I will also consider the development of health care
systems that cater to an ethnically diverse population. (AACN, 2011)
Essential II: Organizational and Systems Leadership
Throughout the course of the semester I shall strive to better understand that maintaining
a working relationship that is mutually respectful with interprofessional teams will more
effectively provide proper patient care. When warranted and necessary I will consult with
other patient care providers to improve patient outcomes. (AACN, 2011)
Essential III: Quality Improvement and Safety
Throughout the course of the semester I shall strive to better my communication with
other providers and use appropriate tools, quality standards, and safety principles taught
in the masters-degree program. I will correctly and prudently decide which diagnostic
tests and procedures are needed for proper evaluation of diagnosis. (AACN, 2011)
Essential IV: Translating and Integrating Scholarship into Practice
Throughout the course of the semester I shall strive to better implement evidence-based
practice and understand the impact on patient care. I will also combine nursing theory,
clinical findings, research, and collaboration from other health care providers to improve
patient outcomes. (AACN, 2011)
Essential V: Informatics and Healthcare Technologies
Throughout the course of the semester I shall strive to better improve patient care by
utilizing electronic health records appropriately. I will use this data to manage and
improve patient outcomes. (AACN, 2011)
Essential VI: Health Policy and Advocacy
Throughout the course of the semester I shall strive to better consider the development of
health care systems that cater to an ethnically diverse population to help the medically
underserved community.
I will analyze how Georgia law regarding APRNs
benefits/hinders the delivery of healthcare. (AACN, 2011)

Essential VII: Interprofessional Collaboration for Improving Patient and

Population Health Outcomes
Throughout the course of the semester I shall strive to better collaborate with appropriate
health care professionals for the development of a patient specific plan of care. I will
work to understand how the scope of practice of the interdisciplinary team affects the
delivery of healthcare. (AACN, 2011)
Essential VIII: Clinical Prevention and Population Health for Improving
Health
Throughout the course of the semester I shall strive to better design patient care strategies
and consider the cultural relevance of the interventions. I will also ensure that it fits the
patient-centered plan of care. (AACN, 2011)
Essential IX: Masters-Level Nursing Practice
Throughout the course of the semester I shall strive to better develop the plan of care
while utilizing knowledge gained through my masters of nursing preparation. I will also
consider the information gained to appropriately assess the patient, diagnose the problem,
and prescribe the correct pharmacological or non-pharmacological treatment all while
considering the patients culture and how my treatment corresponds with nursing theory.
