Experience
Edwin is an ex-officer of the Dutch Air Force based in Volkel and later
was seconded as an instructor for Fire and Safety for the Dutch Air
Force.
Edwin joined BP Texaco in 1990 as a Fire and Safety Officer where he
was involved with incidents covering ships, process arrears and large
tank fires.
Edwin joined RISC in 1996 as senior instructor and as from 2003 is
Business Unit Manager for Industrial Safety.
To date his experience involves providing knowledge and advice in
preparation and prevention of large storage tank fires in a.o.
Switzerland Rheinhafen Anlagen Basel, experience in Turkey in 1999
fighting large tank fires after the earthquake.
He has over 20 years of professional experience as an officer and
Chief Fire Officer and was one of the Chief Trainers of Falck RISC for
8 years. Currently Chief Trainer of H2K. Specialized in teaching the
handling of large-scale disasters, handling of disasters involving
hazardous materials, rescue diving and fire-fighting training.
Also a 3D virtual reality training software specialist.

Centralized Emergency and Fire Services


(CEFS) of PETRONAS
CEFS is located on the East Coast of Malaysia,
with the hub of petrochemical and refining
located in Kertih, Terrengganu. Operations
consist of 3 manned fire stations and a fire
training ground. The CEFS response district
consists of 1 refinery, 10 petrochemical
facilities, 2 gas processing plants, 1 crude oil
terminal as well as tanker age and railway
facilities.
