Dear Friend
Greetings once again in the wonderful name of Jesus our Lord! Despite
everything happening in the world, there are many wonderful things taking place, too!.
One woman recently testified that her company will be having lay-offs. She was concerned
because she is a great giver, and this will not only affect her family but those she helps
through her donations. A week after she asked for prayer for this circumstance she found
out she will not be affected by the changes in her company!
Some of the speakers in the church have been doing a terrific job with their inspiring
messages. The other night we heard a sermon that encouraged us to keep looking to the
Lord and trusting Him through every situation we face. He knows us inside and out, and
even understands our thoughts afar off! (that could be good or bad, depending on what
you're thinking!). She told a story of a pastor who had a store-front church called
"Almighty God Tabernacle." They worked hard to keep the church going, putting in long
hours and weekends. One Saturday night the pastor had been working late at the church
and decided to call his wife to let her know when he was coming home. He dialed the
number and the phone rang and rang. It was very unusual, but he hung up and tried again a
few minutes later. She answered and he asked her why she hadn't picked up. She said,
"Because the phone didn't ring." They forgot about it and went on with their tasks. The
following Sunday a man came to the church and asked the Lord into his heart and forgive
him of his sins. The Lord touched him and saved him, transforming his heart as they
prayed. After that wonderful prayer time, the man told the pastor how he was about to give
up the weekend before. He would have taken his life, but he prayed one more time and
asked God to speak to him. There was no answer, except the ringing of the phone. He
checked the "caller i.d." and it said, "Almighty God." He was afraid to answer the phone!
But he did feel overwhelmed that the Lord heard his heart's cry. Do you know that there is
a God who loves you and hears your prayers? Sometimes we're afraid to respond to Him,
for after all, He is almighty. But He does answer our prayers, whether it be "yes," "no," or
"not yet." But regardless of the answer, I am convinced He loves us all. That man's whole
outlook in life changed when he received the life God offered him.
There is a beautiful verse of Scripture that says, "This I recall to mind, therefore
have I hope." The prophet wrote this verse during one of the most terrible times in the
history of Israel. Jerusalem had been destroyed, and the survivors were taken captive to a
strange land. They were oppressed and living in unfamiliar places. But the prophet
reminded the people that there is hope. When it comes to the Lord Jesus there is always

hope! He went on to write, "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed,
because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy
faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:21-23). Each day begins with the promise of hope. No
matter what the financial state society is in, no matter what the physical state of man is, no
matter how anyone feels, the sun comes up faithfully. Even when clouds cover over the
face of the sun for a day or two, the sun is still shining and it will only be a matter of time
before it reaches you! I am learning to trust the Lord more and more. He has a divine plan
and it is not always our plan. But if we open our Bibles and trust what He says, we know
that "...all things work together for good to them that love God..." (Romans 8:28). We
become persuaded that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Even
in heart-ache and loss, Jesus Christ gives us a hope that is steadfast and sure because He
rose from the dead and gave humanity assurance of eternal life!
I do believe Jesus came to save the worst sinner among us. He is willing to receive
you into His kingdom if you are willing to turn from your doubts and unbelief and
completely trust Him. The Bible says, "Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth
for you" (I Peter 5:7). Isn't that wonderful to know? Jesus cares for you and me! He cares
for that brokenhearted parent, that lost child, that wayward son or daughter. He cares for
the care-worn mother, or the elderly person who feels all alone. He cares for those who are
hurting and those who are feeling emotional pains that won't go away. These things cannot
be eased by money or fame or power. The human condition is as real today as it was before
modern technology has come on the scene. He cares for the earthquake victims in Nepal
and those who are affected by the recent upheavals across America. Jesus is now and
always has been only a prayer away. He is still the Great Comforter, the Healer of men's
lives. He takes a personal interest in every person. The Bible tells us in the day we seek
Him with all our hearts, we will be found of Him! I encourage you to let today be the day
you turn to Christ Jesus with all your heart. He said He will in no wise cast you out!
Let me invite you to our church. We are located on 624 Torringford West Street in
Torrington, CT. Our schedule of services is Sunday at 10 AM and 7 PM, and Wednesday at
7:30 PM. May God bless you "more abundantly" always.
Sincerely

Rev. Daniel Bossidy
