Notes:
Shawl is triangular in shape and is worked from the apex to
the neckline.
Shawl MUST be blocked when finished to allow the stitches
to blossom.
Materials:
Fingering weight yarn, approximately 550-600 yds.
5 mm hook, or size needed to achieve desired effect.
Stitch Abbreviations:
Ch = Chain
Sl st = slip stitch
Sc = single crochet
Trc = treble crochet
Special Stitches:
V = in space indicated, work trc, ch 3, trc
Shell = in space indicated, work 3 trc, ch 1, 3 trc
Fan = The fan is formed over 2 rows. On the
first row, 9 trc are worked into the chain 3 space
of the V stitch on the previous row. On the
second row, work 1 trc into each of the 9 trc on
the previous row.
Sample shawl was crocheted by Denise Lavoie (Ravelry ID: Deniseworld) using Garnstudio
DROPS Kid-silk (laceweight) and hand-dyed wool lace weight held double. Edging was
crocheted using Trendsetter Yarns Dune. Final row of edging was beaded with size 3 Japanese
silver-lined beads. More information on Denises shawl can be found on her Ravelry Project
page (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Deniseworld/green-belle-of-the-ball). My thanks to
Denise for working up such a beautiful sample and for providing editing support.
