INSTALLING THE SERVER FOR WINDOWS 9x/Nt/2000 WITH THE PROTOCOLS TCPIP-ANP
------------------------------------------------------------------------This server can be used on any client or server PC in the network using the
Windows 9x, NT 4 or 2000 operating system. ANP and TCP/IP communications
protocols are supported.
The installation procedure is as follows:
1) If you are using the Windows 95 operating system and you wish
to use the TCP/IP protocol, you must install the upgrade W95WS2SETUP.EXE
supplied by Microsoft for the support of the Winsock 2.2 library.
2) Configuring the server with the ASKEYADD.EXE command or manually edit
ing
the ASKEYSRV.INI configuration file.
3) Manually start the server which shows the current configuration with
the communications protocols used.
4) To obtain statistics on the use of the SmartKey key start the Monitor
utility from the server menu.

CONFIGURING THE SERVER USING ASKEYADD

------------------------------------The ASKEYADD utility carries out the configuration of the network protocols supp
orted
by the SmartKey server.
The following settings are accepted:
-a:<DIRECTORY> Specifies the absolute path of the shared directory for the temp
orary
ANP files. The path specified has to be in the UNC format (for
example: \\SERVER1\DIRECTORY and not F:\DIRECTORY). Each directo
ry can
support only one service. In other words, if two services have b
een
installed on the network, there must be two clearly distinct and
separate
directories.
-p:<PORT>
Specifies the listening port of the TCP/IP protocol
-t:<TIMEOUT>
Specifies the time-out for the ANP protocol. If nothing is speci
fied the

default value will be 30 seconds.

Automatically hides the server window 5 seconds after start-up
Cancels the current configuration

-h
-c

The configuration is saved in the Windows registry in the path:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Eutron\SmartKey Multilan Server"
The ASKEYADD utility always displays the current configuration even if it has be
en
defined using different methods.
CONFIGURING THE SERVER USING ASKEYSRV.INI
----------------------------------------The ASKEYSRV.INI configuration file allows you to specify the configuration of t
he network
protocols of the SmartKey server.
The file must be in the Windows directory.
[Protocol]
Anp = <YESNO>
TcpIp = <YESNO>

Enables or not the ANP protocol (the default is No)

Enables or not the TCP/IP protocol (the default is No)

[Server]
ANPShared = <DIRECTORY> Directory to use for the ANP protocol
IpServer = <SERVER>
Host to use for the TCP/IP protocol (the default is the
server
on which the SmartKey server is running)
Port = <PORT>
Port to use for the TCP/IP protocol
Timeout = <TIMEOUT>
Timeout in seconds for disconnecting clients, (0 = no ti
meout)
Example:
[Protocol]
Anp=Yes
TcpIp=Yes
[Server]
Port=13527
ANPShared=F:\SKEYANP
Timeout=1000
