Managing stress in ZeNLP

After having conducted more than a hundred stress management workshops since the last nine years, I
have had the opportunity to interact with thousands of participants from diverse ethnic, economic,
religious and social backgrounds. The only common thing that binds this diverse group is stress. Almost
every participant at our workshop has experienced stress at some point or the other in their
careers. Many have tried various stress management techniques but find it impossible to continue their
exercises, meditation or kriyas as these techniques did not fit into their daily regimens seamlessly. Ask
the Chief Executive of a multi-crore company to take a half hour walk in the morning and the answer
becomes obvious. He needs a stress management technique which can be used as he brushes his teeth or
takes his bath. He does not have time to take a walk or perform a kriya lasting thirty minutes.
The most ridiculous thing about these stress management kriyas, is that those who try it once and cannot
make it a part of their daily activities become anxious and this anxiety increases their level of stress.
Thus such difficult stress management 'kriyas' or breathing exercises may do more harm than good in the
long run.
This reminds me of a story a fellow passenger narrated to me during my trip to Mumbai. One day a rich
stockbroker is traveling by Gujarat Mail from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. He is carrying Rs.50,000/- in
500 Rupee notes in his pocket. A thief sees the broker counting the cash as he boards the train. The
thief follows the broker and sleeps in the berth. After all passengers have slept, the thief wakes up and
searches the pockets of the broker, rummages through all his bags and every nook and corner of the
compartment but cannot find the bundle of 500 Rupee notes. However, in the morning as the train
reaches Mumbai, the broker wakes up, takes out his money, counts it and happily gets down as his
money is safe. Now the question is where did the broker hide his money? The answer is simple. The
broker hid the money under the pillow of the thief! The thief searched every nook and corner but forgot
to look under his own pillow.
Similarly peace is under our own pillow but we spend our lives endlessly seeking peace. Thus, effective
stress management begins by realizing that the solution for stress management is under your own pillow.
Effective stress management techniques are those which are simple. Here is how ZeNLP techniques
empower participants to analyse their stress level and embark on effectively reducing it through simple
techniques.
According to ZeNLP every individual can encounter three kinds of stress, which covers 80% of the
factors. Pareto's law states that 80% of the stress is generated from 20% activities. Thus practical stress
management should focus on these 20% activities. Among these activities, our research study reveals
interesting results. Activities like smoking, consumption of alcohol, lack of adequate sleep, consumption
of allopathic medicines, lack of physical exercise, addition to narcotic substances, a high fat diet and lack
of spiritual mornings are found to generate maximum levels of physical, mental and spiritual stress.
Now, how do you manage stress? Stress can be effectively managed through discipline. Physical stress
can be managed through regular clapping. Clap 30-40 times uninterruptedly till the rhythm of the claps
resounds in your ears and put you into a light trance. Clapping can be done at your convenience. Mental
stress can be managed through ZeNLP meditation. Take a new one rupee coin and place it on your
agnya chakra (the spot on the forehead, slightly above the points where the eyebrows meet. Hindu
women wear the bindi (sacred dot) on this spot). As long as the one rupee coin remains on your chakra,
your unconscious mind begins to focus on the coin, thus reducing your mental stress. ZeNLP meditation
with the coin can be practiced while you shave, brush your teeth, drive or while walking. Thus ZeNLP is

a practical, simple and effective stress management technique which has a great degree of acceptance
and compliance.
The third major cause of stress is spiritual stress. Lack of religious faith, Skepticism about rituals, lack
of courage to pray, atheist beliefs, rational thinking and a scientific analytical mind could all be
responsible for spiritual stress. Spiritual stress can be managed through autosuggestion. One has to
incessantly chant a mantra. The mantra only produces the spiritual sound which unravels hidden energies
of the soul and awakens soul consciousness. In ZeNLP workshops we believe in healing spiritual stress
through primordial sounds. Hindus are requested to chant OM (pronounced AUM), Muslims chant
AMIN (pronounced AAAAMIN), and Christians AMEN (pronounced AAAAMEN). Regular chanting is
an effective tool to manage spiritual stress. These three simple but effective stress management
techniques can be practiced by one and all, irrespective of age, religious beliefs or sex and if practiced
with discipline and dedication will enable one to manage stress effectively.
However these three simple techniques are selected from a more exhaustive and elaborate menu used to
combat stress. To know more about these innovative techniques feel free to request your HRD head to
get in touch with us over email at feno@vsnl.in and request us for an exhaustive agenda of our two day
ZeNLP based stress management workshop "SHANTI".
