Intermittent problem with Brake module BCM 4202 for MX-GC
There is a technical problem with the new BCM 4202.QB PCB.
In some cases this new brake module may not work properly and causing callbacks.
After some hundreds of trips the Red LED IND ERR on the BCM4202.QB blinks. The SMLCD shows error
0008 SB Fault. The elevator is blocked.
Note that this is an intermittent problem any may only happen with certain installations.
Solutions:
1. Power off and on to remove fault
2. If the problem is persistent (and the new QC is not released) there are two options:
A. For very urgent and frequently problems request only via GCM a reconfiguration to LOC for
replacement of the BCM4202 with BCM420 (including schematics, documentation, etc.). To ensure the
traceability, install these boards on those particular lifts where you have placed the claim in GCM.
B. Wait the new solution and replace only the PCB with the updated BCM4202.QC (preferred solution)

Do not order old brake modules preventively!

There are simply not so many left.
R&D is working with highest priority to analyze and solve the issue.
An official Field Information will follow most probably.
Note:
The BCM420x brake-modules are used for PMS420, PMS400 and PMR340
Please, send back to LOC any BCM4202.QB. Most likely these boards can be reworked.
