Congratulations on receiving your new Maker's Kit! Before beginning the build, take a quick
look over the checklist of materials and tools to make the experience as hassle free as
possible.
BOM - Review the Bill of Materials and check it against what you received in your
package. If anything is missing, please contact us at Printrbot.com/Support
Tools - Take a look at the top of this guide for a list of tools needed for the build. We have
included some, but you will need to supply a couple of your own as well.

Add part 1107, using M3 16MM
screws and M3 hex nuts (4 each).
Great job! Set the "Y arm" aside
and move on to the next step.
Step 7
Attach GT2 pulley to large motor shaft. There is a 2mm spacing between the tip of the
motor shaft and top of GT2 pulley.
Make sure to put a drop of threadlocker on each set screw before securing onto the motor
shaft. Set screws will loosen over time if you do not use threadlocker.
One of the two set screws needs to be secured to the flattened portion of the motor shaft.
TIP: Use the 1.5mm allen wrench provided with your kit to tighten the set
screws.

Step 8
Zip tie LM8UU bearings (x4) to the top side of part 1116.
TIP: Using pliers or a zip tie gun help to get the zip ties as tight as possible.
Next, add LM8UU bearings (x4) to the under side of part 1116.
Note the direction that the zip ties are placed. THIS IS IMPORTANT.
Step 9
Attach the motor with M3 10MM screws (x4). Note the direction of the motor wiring.
This will be your "Y axis" motor. Use a marker to label the connector. This will make wiring
the electronics a lot easier later in the build.

Attach 1114 and 1115, using an M3 16MM screw and M3 hex nut.
Run the connector through the wiring hole and attach the 24" end stop to wood part 1115
with M2 10MM screws (x2). Note the direction the end stop is facing. The "gator mouth"
should match the example in the picture.
TIP: Hand tighten the M2 10MM screws. Overtightening them will crack the end
stop.

Step 12
Attach the delrin acme nut to wood part 1115 with M2 10MM screws (x2).
This will be your "Y axis" end stop. Label the connector for wiring the electronics later in
the build.

Attach the 1114/1115 assembly to the 1116 assembly with M3 16MM screws and M3 hex
nuts (x3 each)
Zip tie the motor and end stop wiring together. Go ahead and clip the zip tie.

Loop the end of GT2 through part 1126. Align the teeth/grooves of the belt. Zip tie the end
of the belt. Clip the zip tie.
Run the GT2 belt over the 624 bearing, under the GT2 pulley, and back over the other 624
bearing. Note that the teeth of the belt are facing up. Note that part 1126 is to the left or
"front" of the Y axis.
Insert two 6.5" 8mm bars through the LM8UU bearings.
Loosely, add zip ties to part 1100.
Step 15
Combine the two assemblies and tighten the zip ties to hold the bars in place.

Use M3 20MM screws and M3 hex nuts (x2 each) to attach part 1126 to 1102 at the front
of the Y arm.
NOTE: Part 1126 is NOT flush against 1102. This will be your belt tensioning
system. So, leave yourself some threading to tighten the belts as needed
throughout the life of your Printrbot. Tight belts make are crucial for making great prints.
Step 17
Pull the other end of the GT2 belt through the slot in wood part 1101.
Once the belt is tight, secure it with a zip tie.
Remember, tight belts make for good prints!

Add the Auto-Leveling Probe to the Y arm, sandwiching wood part 1104 with the nuts on
the probe.
If your probe came with star washers, you can remove these. They are not necessary
for the build.

Place the Auto-Leveling Probe wire into the notch in wood part 1102.
Attach base of extruder onto part 1103 with M3 10MM screws (x3).
Add parts 1105 and 1106 to 1102. Secure with M3 16MM screws and M3 hex nuts.

Attach the 625 bearing to the extruder arm with the M5 16MM screw.
Insert the 6-32 screw into the extruder arm. Tighten the 3/4" spring on to the 6-32 screw
with the 6-32 hex nut.

Tighten the set screw of the Direct Drive Gear down on to the flat side of the motor shaft.
Line up the drive gear with the center of the 625 bearing (use threadlocker).
Step 23
Use an M3 20MM screw to attach the bottom left corner of the extruder motor assembly to
the base of the extruder.
Insert the hot end through wood part 1103 up through the bottom of the extruder. Once the
hot end is in place, use an M3 20MM screw to secure it.

Attach fan onto parts 1105 and 1106 with M3 16MM screws and M3 hex nuts (x2 each).
Note the position of the fan and wiring.
NOTE: Screws may seem to long at this point and hit the end of the laser cut slot. Once
you print and install the fan shroud underneath, these are the correct screw length.

Secure the hot end, fan, and probe wiring to wood part 1105 with a zip tie.
Nice work! The Y arm is done. Set this aside and begin the base of the bot in the next
step.

Motor, GT2 Pulley, parts 1117 and 1118, #6 washer (x6), M4 12MM screws (x2), 624
bearings (x2), M3 10MM screws (x2), M3 16MM screws (x2)
Add GT2 pulley to the motor. Again, be sure to tighten one of the set screws down on to
the flat side of the motor shaft using a drop of threadlocker.
Note the position of the pulley, almost flush against the motor with the flanges away from
the motor. Make sure it is not pressing against the motor.
Attach the motor to part 1117 with M3 10MM screws (x2). Leads should exit to left as
shown.
Place an M3 hex nut at the top of wood part 1117 to be used later.

X axis motor assembly, motor, M3 10MM screws (x4), M3 16MM screw, part 1119
Attach a motor to wood part 1119 with M3 10MM screws (x4). Note that the motor wiring is
directed away from the "TOP BACK" of part 1119.
Attach the motor/part 1119 to the X axis motor assembly with M3 16MM screw.
This will be your Z axis motor. Label it for future wiring.

Zip tie LM8UU bearings to the top of part 1119. Note the position of the zip tie notches, on
the bottom to the outsides.

Attach the end stop with M2 10MM screws (x2). Hand tighten. Note the direction that the
end stop is facing. The switch is to the outside, with the "gator mouth" open to the back left
side.
This will be your X axis end stop. Label it for future wiring.

screws (x16), 10" 8mm bars (x2)
Attach wood part 1127 to the bottom of the X/Z axis motor assembly with M3 16MM screw
and M3 hex nut.
Add bars to the right side of the assembly. Note that the ends of the bars are flush with the
bottom of the base (wood part 1121).

Base, part 1122, M3 hex nut, M3 16MM screw, Printrboard (Rev F), 6-pin compact power
harness dongle, M3 10MM screws (x4)
Attach the 6-pin compact power harness dongle to the "Power" hole in part 1124. Thread
the nut to the back side of the wood part to secure the dongle.
Attach the Printrboard to the bottom of wood part 1120 on the base.
Note the orientation of the Printrboard. The USB port and SD card slot should align with
holes labeled on the outside of the base (part 1124). Also, see that the X end stop wiring
is directed away from part 1124.

Attach part 1122 to the front of the
base. Just use a single M3 16MM
and M3 hex nut for now. The rest of
the screws/nuts will be added later.

Plug your X axis motor into "X-MOT" on the Printrboard. Be sure to match the wire color
order (blue, yellow, green, red).
Do the same for the Z axis motor. Plug into "Z-MOT" on the Printrboard.
Manage the excess motor wires by tucking them between the X and Z axis motors in the
base.
Plug the Y axis motor into "Y-MOT". Note that the wire colors (red, green, yellow, blue) are
opposite of the Z and X motors.
Plug the extruder motor into "E-MOT" (also red, green, yellow, blue).
Zip tie your excess motor wire and tuck it into the base.

Finally, pull the 6-pin compact power harness wiring over the motor, fan, hot end, and end
stop wiring to connect it to the "PWR" plug.
Zip tie the remaining excess wire and tuck it into the base.
Use wire wrap to manage the wiring from the base to the Y arm.

Place M3 hex nut in part 1117 before attaching part 1123 to the base with M3 16MM
screws and M3 hex nuts (x8 each).
Also M3 16MM screws and M3 hex nuts to secure part 1122 to the front of the base.

other 624 bearing. Be sure that the teeth of the belt are facing up and aligned with the teeth
of the pulley.

Attach part 1110 to the left ends of the bars with zip ties.
Attach part 1111 to the right ends of the bars with zip ties.

Attach parts 1112 and 1113 with M3 16MM screws and M3 hex nuts (x2 each)
Place the 1108/1109 assembly on the left side bar ends and 1112/1113 on the right side

Attach wood part 1125 to the right side bar end (wood part 1113), using M3 20mm screws
and M3 hex nuts (x2 each). Leave some threading between 1125 and 1113 to allow for
future tightening.
Loop the other end of the GT2 belt through the slot and back in wood part 1108. Secure the
end with a zip tie. Align the teeth of the GT2 belt for a better hold.
Try to get the belt as tight as you can before securing it with a zip tie. Remember
that tight belts make for good prints!'
Once the GT2 belt is positioned and attached to the bar ends, take a moment to tighten
part 1125 (belt tensioner).
