The Hohner Echo Elite tremolo harmonica was made for the World Trade
Exhibition in 1933-1934 which took place in Chicago, USA and although it
was intended as a "one off - special event" model, production continued until the mid 1940s. It's an excellent instrument in the "Art Deco" style with a beautiful sound and very easy to play. This is a Hohner Echo 96 as it has a total of 96 holes. The top row of holes on each side are tuned slightly higher than the bottom row & that's how Hohner achieves its tremolo effect. Each side is a different key; so it's either a C/G harmonica or a D/A harmonica, 2 of the most common Echo Harp Harmonicas. I'd guess its age at perhaps a 1940s-1950s vintage..
