The Boerum

The Boerum pays homage to this rich historic streetscape


through its primary faade of classic red brick, and windows
framed with cast stone. The exterior is inspired by townhouse
proportions, and modernized by a modulating basket-weave
pattern to integrate a sense of rhythm into a larger visual
field. With its upper levels composed of sculpted aluminum
panels, The Boerums subtle shift of form and material rises to
create a building of understated substance, and a respectful
nod to the surrounding streetscape.

224 Mulberry
New York, NY

The Project is located on Mulberry Street between Prince and


Spring Streets. The building is 43,0000 SF and rises 8 stories
above street level. 224 Mulberry is comprised of 7-unique
offerings. The faade is an assemblage of Roman Brick, cast
stone and mahogany windows. The brick is rich in texture and
pattern. The cast stone clads the upper floors with brick jams
as accent pieces. The interiors are vast and share the exteriors regal textures, layers, and timeliness.

Drayton Tower
Savannah, GA

The 12 story Drayton Arms apartment building was constructed between 1949 and 1951 in downtown Savannah, GA.
Located in the center of Savannahs historic district, which was
largely developed in the 19th century, the building represents
a significant departure from the local design aesthetic. The
first floor of the building contains broad glazed storefronts
topped with marble panels. The tower floors feature continuous horizontal bands of aluminum framed windows with green
tinted Solex glass above smooth buff colored limestone spandrels. After a period of neglect, Flank re-imagined the building as luxury rental apartments that anchor one of the most
vibrant urban landscapes on the Eastern seaboard.

The Abingdon
New York, NY

The project is located on the North West corner of Abingdon


Square situated on Hudson, West 12th Street, and Greenwich.
The building is 55,000 s.f. and rises 7 stories above street
level. Originally constructed in 1905,The Abingdon is comprised
of 9 unique offerings. Its Federalist faade is rich in ornamental detailing. The interiors evoke a past era, incorporating a
rich palette of materials and texture, while also celebrating
updated contemporary detailing.

385 West 12th


New York, NY

The project is located on West 12th Street between Washington and West Street. The building is 50,000 s.f. and rises 7
stories above street level. It is comprised of 12 unique offerings. The faade is comprised of copper panels and large
unitized windows. The interior program is transcribed on the
exterior. The copper is untreated and as the building ages, the
copper will patina gracefully for years to come. A roof top
pool caps the building with unfettered views of the Hudson
River.

441 E. 57th St
New York, NY

The project is located on East 57th Street between Sutton


Place and First Avenue in Manhattan. The building is 20,000
s.f. and rises 15 stories above street level. It is comprised of 6
unique offerings clearly delineated on the faade with anodized metal channels. This assembly evokes a vertical block of
town homes stitched into a unified column. The faade is a
glass rain-screen comprised of fifty-one different panel types.
The assembly is comprised of over fifteen hundred framed
puzzle pieces. During daylight hours the building reads as a
back-painted glass box, only revealing its window apertures
when illuminated from the interior at night. The buildings
mass serves as a contemporary seam, repairing a previously
broken cornice line between the neighboring 1930s cooperatives. The composition of glass faade is rich and textured
paying homage to its historic surroundings.
