Narrative:

Philippine Daily Inquirers Vision and Mission statements are very short and concise
making it quite challenging to indicate terms that relate to the essential components. This
company is considered a publishing/ multi-media industry in which its Vision and Mission
statements do not include specific citations on its products and technology used. However, it is
necessary to further expound on the relation of the 9 Essential Components and the company
Vision and Mission statements for a clearer understanding of the table presented above.
Based on the rating, Technology and Concern for Growth, Survival and Profitability are not
included because there are no specific references on them in both statements.
Yet, Product and Services are included because regardless of the absence of specific
references, we are all aware that the company produces newsprint daily and as a service we are
given the latest information on current events as promised in the Mission statement.
Concern for Public Image earned a check mark on the rating because it impliedly exists,
keeping in mind that the statements indicate empowering and passionately telling the Filipino
story. The image this shows us is that the crew behind the industry are eager to provide accurate,
significant and worthwhile material that could influence independent and liberate thinking
among the citizens.

Customer and Market are both included because normally it is every industrys characteristic
to have a market for what they offer and have customers that believe in what they could provide.
There is an emphasis on the Filipino people but in my opinion it doesnt only concern the
Filipinos but also be of interest to the foreigners as well because foreign investors and visitors
may want to seek for opportunities in the country.
Lastly, Self-Concept is the companys perception of itself in the industry as its Vision and
Mission statements suggest, the image they want to present and their aim is to publish accurate,
significant and worthwhile material that could influence independent and liberate thinking
among the Filipinos.
