Annual Meeting
The Sherwood Forest Community Club annual meeting
was held on October 21,2009. SFCC Officers and
Trustees were elected. Committee sign up took place.
Annual dues were approved by the membership.

SFCC Committees
The following SFCC Committees are being formed.
Your participation is welcome and encouraged.
Communication. Develop and maintain an electronic
communication system; distribution of SFCC newsletters
and other written material by Block Representatives.

Membership. Welcome new residents to
neighborhood and update Block information.
Emergency Preparedness. Develop and implement a
block-by-block preparedness progmm to address impacts
from severe storms, earthquakes, and other disasters.

Block Watch. Develop and implement, block-by-block,
the City of Bellevue Block Watch program to promote
residential awareness, safety, and security. Contact:

Record Preseruation. Review, analyze, and select
SFCC documents for retention and electronic

SFCC Board of Directon regarding traffrc flow patterns
and speeds throughout SFCC neighborhood. Monitor
Bellevue and Redmond transportation plans, proposals,
and projects with the potential to impact the Sherwood

Neighborhood Enhancement Monitor the Bellevue
Neighborhood Enhancement program, including
announcements and proposals for northeast Bellevue in
2010-2011. Formation pending.
Land Use - monitor Bellevue and Redmond land use
development proposals affecting the Sherwood Forest

Sherwood tr'orest Community Club Dues
Article III of the Sherwood Forest Community
Club By-Laws provides for assessment of annual
membership dues. The dues fund expenses associated
with SFCC operations including State non-profit
corporate filing fees, P.O. Box rental, printing, postage,
and office supplies. Annual membership dues in the
amount of $10.00 per household were approved at the
Annual Meeting- Dues payments should be mailed to:

Mailbox Pilfering
In recent months, there have been numerous reports
of mail being stolen from mailboxes throughout
Sherwood Forest and other nearby neighborhoods. tt is
recommended that you not place out-going mail in your
mailbo>r, that you check your mailbox promptly after mail
has been delivered, and watch for suspicious activity.
Some Sherwood Forest residents have installed
locking mailboxes. Although SFCC does not endorse a
specific product or recommend an installer, the Board is
gathering resource information regarding locking
mailboxes and will make that information available upon
). request.
 PUGET SOUND ENERGY PROPOSED NEW
SUBSTATION IN NORTHEAST BELLEVIJE
At a community meeting on Decembet 2,2009, Puget
Sound Energy ("PSE") presented an updated proposal
(Option "F") for construction of a new electric
substation and associated transmission lines in the
South Redmond./Northeast Bellevue area. The
proposed Option "F" substation would be located at the
current site of Bank of America on Bel-Red Road near
NE 24th Sfieet in the City of Redmond. Feedback from
Sherwood Forest residents who attended the recent
PSE meeting has been positive, and it is the opinion of
the SFCC Board that Option "F" is the best alternative
to the previously proposed Option <(D" site
immediately adjacent to the Belmore/Sherwood Forest
neighborhood. It has recently been confirmed that PSE
now owns the aforementioned site. The SFCC Board
will continue to monitor the PSE substation issue.
Thank you for continued interest, involvement, and
support regarding this important issue.

Block Representatives are needed for blocks at the
following locations:
Block 2 - NE 29rh St. west of 1646 Ave. NE
Block 4 -NE 27th St. between 162il & l64e Ave. NE
Block 7 -NE 24th St. between 162"d & l64e Ave. NE
Block I I - NE 27h St. between l60m & l62d Ave. NE
Block l3 - 160th Pl. NE (west Peachtree)
Block l4 - NE 29th St. (east Peachtree)
Block l7 - 159th eve. NE between NE 24th & NE 26th
Block l8 - Belmore
Duties: distribute quarterly SFCC Newsletters and
other written material to houses located on the block.
Block Representatives are a vital link between
residents and the SFCC committees and Board.

Do you have a suggestion for activity in the SFCC
neighborhood, e.8., a neighborhood garage sale as
recently suggested by a SFCC resident? Please convey
suggestions to your Block Representative and/or a
SFCC BoEd member.
City of Bellevue Neighborhood Grant Program
The SFCC Board is considering potential projects
that may be eligible for the annual City of Bellevue
Neighborhood Match Program.

Clearing storm drains prevents flooding
"'When the rain starts to fall, clogged storm drains are
often the cause of flooding in Bellevue neighborhoods.
All those leaves falling from the trees pile up fast over
the grates. City Utilities crews regularly clear storm
drains as part of routine maintenance, but they can
hardly reach all 20,000. Residents are encouraged to
help prevent flooding in their neighborhoods by raking
leaves and evergreen needles from storm drains
themselves." (City website)

BELLEVT'E CODES
20.20.470 Inoperable motor vehicles.
An inoperable motor vehicle is defined for the purposes
of this section as a motor vehicle which is apparently
inoperable or which requires repairs in order to be
operated legally on the public roads, such as: repair or
replacement of a window, windshield, wheel, tire, motor
or transmission. Inoperable motor vehicles shall be
screened from neighboring properly and the public right-
of-way by a legally permitted solid structure or solid
fence, or by Type I landscaping as defined in LUC
20.20.520; provided, that open or unscreened storage of
an inoperable motor vehicle for a seven-day period while
such vehicle is under repair or awaiting repair is

11.23.020 Parking over24 hours prohibited.
No person having control over a vehicle may park such
vehicle upon any public street or public way or leave such
vehicle in the same public place for a period exceeding 24
