Dac mi s-ar cere s definesc ara Minunilor n care micua Alice i triete un vis

de var, a spune c acest trm, ciudat i minunat n acelai timp, este chiar
lumea real. Lumea real vzut cu ochi de copil. Asta pentru c toate personajele
sunt portrete ale unor persoane care ar putea exista n realitate; astfel putem regsi
Regina de Cup n viaa de toate zilele ca fiind o femeie stpn pe o anumit avere
pe care nu dorete s-o mpart cu nimeni: toi cei care intr pe ternul ei de criket
sunt condamnai la moarte. Regele de Cup este un fel de victim a personalitii
foarte puternice a Reginei: o consult cu team nainte de a lua orice hotrre dei
el e Regele. Ducesa o femeie ignorant, inferioar pn i nebunei de
buctrese care arunc cu tot ce nimerete dup stpna ei. Copilul Ducesei nu
poate ajunge dect un porc, ceea ce i devine n timp ce Alice l ine n brae.
Soldaii din pachetul de cri de joc sunt portretizri ale unor oameni care, supui
tiraniei Reginei de Cup, nu mai au cum s-i arate adevratul caracter; de frica
decapitrii ajung pn la a vopsi n rou o tuf de trandafiri albi ceea ce semnific
fuga de rspundere n faa ameninrii cu moartea. Animalele sunt personificate
unele de imaginaia copilului (Grifonul sau Falsul estos, de exemplu) iar altele de
denumirea lor care se d i unor oameni cu anumite caracteristici (Dodo un om
ncet, prost i cruia nu-i place societatea; porcul omul ignorant care stric orice
prietenie prin comportarea sa grosolan; Motanul de Cheshire omul care rde de
toat lumea, cu sau fr motiv, i care, atunci cnd e tras la rspundere, dispare
etc.). Alte animale sunt personificate datorit unor expresii cum ar fi: Nebun ca un
iepure de martie (n nchipuirea lui Alice acest om nebun ia forma unui iepure care
nu apare tocmai normal). Iepurele Alb are un loc special n acest univers al
metaforelor realizate incontient de Alice: el este acela care o introduce n aceast
ar; este poate singurul personaj care poate fi asemuit cu un om normal, echilibrat;
este legtura cu lumea real: cnd l vede, n holul cu uie, Alice alearg la el s-i
cear ajutor pentru a iei de acolo; n timpul procesului Valetului de Cup el este
acela care, dup citirea rechizitoriului, aduce martori spre a dovedi vina acestuia.
Armata Reginei de Cup este asemuit cu un pachet de cri de joc n care, ca i
ntr-o armat real, se gsesc crile inferioare (Doi, Trei, Cinci) soldaii -, crile
medii (Zece, Valetul de Cup) gradele inferioare i crile superioare (Regine i
Regele de Cup) gradele superioare - . nghearea fiecrei scene dup ce Alice
prsete locul desfurrii ei, nghearea timpului din Ceaiul nebunilor i finalul
crii, n care sora ei mai mare i-o imagineaz pe Alice povestind copiilor ei visul de
odinioar pe care acetia l-ar fi trit cu aceeai intensitate, reprezint faptul c
aceast lume este venic; ea va dura att timp ct pe lume vor fi copii; n aceast
lume se poate intra o singur dat n via indiferent dac copilul care intr are cinci
sau cinci zeci i cinci de ani. Sunt sigur c fiecare din noi am intrat odat, cu mai
mult sau mai puin timp n urm, n gaura Iepurelui Alb; dac am fost persevereni,
ca micua Alice, am reuit s ajungem i n grdina cu flori frumoase i vesele cu
toate c uia care ducea acolo era foarte mic i nici mcar capul nu ne ncpea
prin ea i cu toate c piciorul mesei de sticl era alunecos, prea alunecos ca s ne
crm pe el i s lum cheia uitat acolo. Mrturisesc c, atunci cnd am
terminat de citit aceast carte, am avut senzaia c m-am trezit dintr-un vis frumos,
ntocmai ca Alice.

If I were asked to define Wonderland where Alice little lives his dream summer, I'd
say this realm, strange and wonderful at the same time, it is even real world. The
