About the ziyrah form dedicated to Imam Muammad al-Jawd (`a), the three master scholars (Shaykh al-Mufd, alShahd, and Muammad ibn al-Mashhad) have said the following:
You may then direct to the tomb of Ab-Ja`far Muammad ibn `Al al-Jawd (`a) whose tomb is in the back of the
tomb of his grandfather (i.e. Imam al-Kim). When you stop near the tomb, you may say the following words:

Peace be upon you, O intimate

servant of Allah.
Peace be upon you, O Allahs
argument.

alssalmu `alayka y waliyya

allhi

alssalmu `alayka y ujjata

allhi

Peace be upon you, O Allahs light

in the darkness of the earth.

alssalmu `alayka y nra

allhi f ulumti al-ari

Peace be upon you, O son of

Allahs Messenger.
Peace be upon you and upon your
fathers.
Peace be upon you and upon your
descendants.
Peace be upon you and upon your
loyalists.
I bear witness that you performed
the prayers,

alssalmu `alayka yabna rasli

allhi

defrayed the poor-rate,

wa tayta alzzakta

enjoined the right,

wa amarta bilma`rfi

forbade the wrong,

wa nahayta `an almunkari

recited the Book as it should be

recited,
strove for Allah as exactly as
striving should be,

wa talawta alkitba aqqa

tilwatih

wa jhadta f allhi aqqa

jihdih

and endured harm for His sake

wa abarta `al al-adh f

janbih

until death came upon you.

att atka alyaqnu

I have come to you, visiting you,

ataytuka z'iran

recognizing your right,

`rifan biaqqika

declaring loyalty to your loyalists,

muwliyan li'awliy'ika

and incurring the animosity of

your enemies;
so, (please) intercede for me with
Your Lord.

b'ika

alssalmu `alayka wa `al

abn'ika

alssalmu `alayka wa `al

awliy'ika

ashhadu annaka qad aqamta

alalta

mu`diyan lia`d'ika
fashfa` l `inda rabbika

You may then kiss the tomb and put your both cheeks on it. You may then offer the two-unit prayer of ziyrah after
which you may offer any other prayers. You may then prostrate yourself and say the following words:

(Please) have mercy upon him who

had misbehaved and committed
sins,
but he then submitted and
confessed.

iram man as'a waqatarafa

wastakna wa`tarafa

You may then place your right cheek on the ground and say the following words:

If I am the worst servant (of You),

in kuntu bi'sa al`abdu

then You are the All-excellent Lord.

fa'anta ni`ma alrrabbu

You may then place your left cheek on the ground and say the following words:

Your servants sin has been very

flagrant,
then let Your pardon be very
excellent.
O All-generous!

`auma aldhdhanbu min `abdika

falyasun al`afwu min `indika

y karmu

You may then return to the position of prostration and repeat the following word one hundred times:

Another Form of Ziyrah of Imam al-Jawd

In his book of al-Mazr, Sayyid Ibn ws says:After you visit Imam Ms al-Kim (`a), you may stop at the tomb
of Imam al-Jawd (`a), kiss it, and say the following words:

Peace be upon you, O AbJa`far

alssalmu `alayka y ab ja`farin

Muammad the son of `Al,

muammadu bna `aliyyin

the righteous, pious,

albarru alttaqiyyu

and faithful leader.

al-immu alwafiyyu

Peace be upon you, O

confidentially talked by
Allah.

deemed above unforgivable
failings.
Peace be upon you, O raised
high against imperfect
traits.
Peace be upon you, O
pleased in the sight of the
honorable ones.
Peace be upon you, O pillar
of the religion.
I bear witness that you are
the intimate servant of
Allah,
the argument of Him in His
lands,
the side of Allah, the best in
the view of Allah,
the store of the knowledge
of Allah and the knowledge
of the Prophets,
the cornerstone of faith,
and the interpreter of the
Qur'n.
I also bear witness that
whoever follows you has
been on the right and true
guidance
but whoever denies you and
incurs your animosity
has been on deviation and
perdition.
I repudiate these in the
presence of Allah and you in
this world and in the
Hereafter.
Peace be upon you as long
as I am existent and as long
as there are day and night.

Invocation of Blessings upon Imam al-Jawd

Invoking Almighty Allahs blessings on Imam al-Jawd (`a), you may say the following words:

O Allah, (please) send

blessings upon Muammad
and his Household,
send blessings upon
Muammad the son of `Al,

allhumma alli `al

muammadin wa ahli baytih

wa alli `al muammadi bni

`aliyyin

the pure, the pious,

alzzakiyyi alttaqiyyi

the righteous, the faithful,

walbarri alwafiyyi

the refined, the bright,

walmuhadhdhabi alnnaqiyyi

the guide of the nation,

hd al-ummati

the inheritor of the Imams,

wa writhi al-a'immati

the hoarder of mercy,

wa khzini alrramati

the spring of wisdom,

wa yanb`i alikmati

the leader of blessing,

wa q'idi albarakati

the match of the Qur'n in

obedience,
the distinctive among the
Successors in sincerity and
worship,

wa `adli alqur'ni f al`ati

wa widi al-awiy'i f al-ikhli
wal`ibdati

Your premier argument,

wa ujjatika al`uly

Your highest example,

wa mathalika al-a`l

Your most excellent Word,

wa kalimatika alusn

the caller to You,

aldd` ilayka

and the director towards You,

walddlli `alayka

whom You have appointed as

signpost for Your servants,

alladh naabtah `alaman

li`ibdika

interpreter of Your Book,

wa mutarjiman likitbika

expounder of Your commands,

wa di`an bi'amrika

supporter of Your religion,

wa niran lidnika

argument against Your

creatures,
radiance through whom
darkness is penetrated,
excellent example through
whom true guidance is hit,
and intercessor through whom
Paradise is won.

wa ujjatan `al khalqika

wa nran takhruqu bih alulama
wa qudwatan tudraku bih
alhidyatu
wa shaf`an tunlu bih aljannatu

O Allah, just as he took his

share of reverence for You
and received completely his
portion of fear of You,
so (please) bless him with
many folds of blessings that
You have ever poured down
on an intimate servant of You
whose obedience to You has
been approved of by You
and whose servitude has been
admitted by You.
Convey to him greetings and
salutations from us,
and give us - from You on
account of our loyalty to him favors, kindness,

allhumma wa kam akhadha f

khush`ih laka aah

wastawf min khashyatika

nabah

faalli `alayhi a`fa m allayta

`al waliyyin

irtaayta `atah

wa qabilta khidmatah
wa ballighhu minn taiyyatan wa
salman
wa tin f muwltih min
ladunka falan wa isnan

forgiveness, and pleasure.

wa maghfiratan wa riwnan

You are verily the Lord of

eternal favoring

innaka dhlmanni alqadmi

and nice pardoning.

walafi aljamli

You may then offer the two-unit prayer of ziyrah. After accomplishment, you may say the supplication, which begins
with this statement:

O Allah, You are the Sustainer and I

am the sustained

allhumma anta alrrabbu wa an

almarbbu

You may then pray Almighty Allah for your personal requests and they shall be granted, Allah willing.
Another Form of Ziyrah of Imam al-Jawd
In man-l-yauruhul-faqh, Shaykh al-adq has reported the following:
When you intend to visit Imam al-Jawd (`a), you may bathe yourself and put on two clean (and ceremonially pure)
pieces of clothes. You may then say the following words:

O Allah, (please) send blessings

upon Muammad the son of `Al,

allhumma alli `al muammadi

abni `aliyyin

the pious, bright,

al-immi alttaqiyyi alnnaqiyyi

pleasing, and pleased Imam

alrraiyyi almariyyi

and Your argument against all

those who are on the earth
and those who are beneath the
ground
with such blessings that are
plentiful,

wa ujjatika `al man fawqa alari

ever-increasing, pure, blessed,

nmiyatan zkiyatan
mubrakatan

continuous, consecutive, and

uninterrupted
and with the most excellent
blessings that You have ever
conferred upon any of Your
intimate servants.

wa man tata alththar

Peace be upon you, O Allahs light

I have come to you, visiting you,

Another form of Ziyrah of Imam al-Jawd Baqiyatus salehat

Peace be upon the most straight
alssalmu `al albbi al-aqadi
door (to true guidance),

the most upright path,

walarqi al-arshadi

the Divinely supported knower,

wal`limi almu'ayyadi

the spring of wisdoms,

yunb`i alikami

the lantern in darkness,

wa mibi alulami

the chief of Arabs and non-Arabs,

sayyidi al`arabi wal`ajami

the guide to orthodoxy,

alhd il alrrashdi

and the granted success by means

of support and leading to trueness;

almuwaffaqi biltta'ydi walssaddi

my master Ab-Ja`far

mawlya ab ja`farin

Muammad the son of `Al the

Magnanimous.
I bear witness that you are the
intimate servant of Allah;
you performed the prayers,

muammadi bni `aliyyin aljawdi

ashhadu y waliyya allhi
annaka aqamta alalta

defrayed the poor-rate,

wa tayta alzzakta

enjoined the right,

wa amarta bilma`rfi

forbade the wrong,

wa nahayta `an almunkari

strove in the way of Allah as exactly

as strife should be,
and served Allah sincerely until
death came upon you.

wa jhadta f sabli allhi aqqa

jihdih

So, you lived happily

fa`ishta sa`dan

and passed away as martyr.

wa maayta shahadan

Would that I were with you,

y laytan kuntu ma`akum

then should I achieve a great

success.
Allahs mercy and blessings be upon
you.

wa `abadta allha mukhlian

att atka alyaqnu

fa'afza fawzan `aman

wa ramatu allhi wa baraktuh

You may then kiss the blessed soil (of the tomb) and place your right cheek on it. You may then offer the two-unit
prayer of ziyrah after which you may pray Almighty Allah for any thing you want.
SUPPLICATION AFTER THE PRAYER FOLLOWING ZIYRAH OF IMAM AL-JAWD

This supplication is said after the ziyarah form at the holy tomb of Imam Muammad al-Jawd (`a):
O Allah, You are the Sustainer and
I am the sustained.

allhumma anta alrrabbu wa an

almarbbu

You are the Creator and I am the

created.

wa anta alkhliqu wa an
almakhlqu

You are the Owner and I am the

owned.

wa anta almliku wa an
almamlku

You are the Granter and I am the

beggar.
You are the Provider with
sustenance and I am the receiver
of sustenance.
You are the All-powerful and I am
the powerless.

wa anta almu` wa an alss'ilu

wa anta alrrziqu wa an
almarzqu

wa anta alqdiru wa an al`jizu

You are the All-forceful and I am

the weak.

wa anta alqawiyyu wa an
ala`fu

You are the Aide and I am the

seeker of aid.

wa anta almughhu wa an
almustaghhu

You are the Everlasting and I am

destined to die.

wa anta aldd'imu wa an
alzz'ilu

You are the Significant and I am

the trivial.

wa anta alkabru wa an alaqru

You are the Great and I am the

tiny.

wa anta al`amu wa an
alaghru

You are the Lord and I am the

slave.

wa anta almawl wa an al`abdu

You are the Almighty and I am the

humble.

wa anta al`azzu wa an
aldhdhallu

You are the Elevated and I am the

meek.

wa anta alrraf`u wa an
alwa`u

You are the Manager and I am

managed.

wa anta almudabbiru wa an
almudabbaru

You are the Eternal and I am

mortal.

wa anta albq wa an alfn

You are the Judge and I am

judged.

wa anta alddayynu wa an
almudnu

You are the Resurrector and I am

resurrected.

wa anta alb`ihu wa an
almab`hu

You are the Rich and I am the

poor.

wa anta alghaniyyu wa an
alfaqru

You are the Ever-living and I am

subjected to death.
You, O my Lord, can find someone
to torment other than me
but I cannot find anyone to have
mercy on me other than You.
O Allah, (please) send blessings
upon Muammad and the
Household of Muammad,

wa anta alayyu wa an
almayyitu

hasten their Relief,

wa qarrib farajahum

and have mercy on my humiliation

before You,

waram dhull bayna yadayka

my imploration to You,

wa taarru` ilayka

my disassociation from people,

wa washat min alnnsi

and my entertainment with You, O

All-generous.
Then, (please) endue me at this
very hour
with mercy from You by which You
tranquilize my heart,

tajidu man tu`adhdhibu y rabbi

ghayr

wa l ajidu man yaramun

ghayruka

allhumma alli `al

muammadin wa li muammadin

wa uns bika y karmu

humma taaddaq `alayya f
hdhih alss`ati
biramatin min `indika tuhaddi'u
bih qalb

bring together my affairs,

wa tajma`u bih amr

reunite my scattering,

wa talummu bih sha`ah

whiten my face,

wa tubayyiu bih wajh

confer honor on my status,

wa tukrimu bih maqm

relieve me from my burdens,

wa tauu bih `ann wizr

forgive my past sins,

wa taghfiru bih m ma min

dhunb

protect me against sinning in the

rest of my lifetime,

wa ta`imun f m baqiya min

`umr

employ me in my entire lifetime

wa tasta`milun f dhlika kullih

in acts of obedience to You and

acts that bring about Your
pleasure,
seal my deeds with the best of
them,
decide Paradise to be my reward
for that,
lead me to the path of the
righteous,
help me do well with the virtuous
of what You have given me

bi`atika wa m yurka `ann

wa takhtimu `amal bi'asanih

wa taj`alu l hawbah aljannata

wa tasluku b sabla allina

wa tu`nun `al lii m
a`aytan

in the same way as You have

helped the righteous ones do well
with what You have given them,

kam a`anta allina `al

lii m a`aytahum

never deprive me of any virtuous

thing that You have given me,

wa l tanza` minn lian

a`aytinhi abadan

never send me back to a wicked

matter from which You have saved
me,

wa l taruddan f s'in
istanqadhtan minhu abadan

never make my enemy or one who

envies me gloat at my misfortune,
and never leave me alone with my
own affairs even for a winking of
an eye

wa l tushmit b `aduwwan wa l
sidan abadan
wa l takiln il nafs arfata
`aynin abadan

or less or more than that.

wa l aqalla min dhlika wa l

akhara

O Lord of the worlds!

y rabba al`lamna

O Allah, (please) send blessings

upon Muammad and the
Household of Muammad,
show the right as it is in reality so
that I will follow it
and the wrong as it is in reality so
that I will shun it,
never confuse the right and the
wrong for me;
lest I will follow my own desires
without finding true guidance
from You.
And (please) cause all my desires
to follow the obedience to You,
take the pleasure of You from the
pleasure of myself,

allhumma alli `al

muammadin wa li muammadin
wa arin alaqqa aqqan
fa'attabi`ah

walbila bilan fa'ajtanibah

wa l taj`alhu `alayya
mutashbihan

fa'attabi`a hawya bighayri

hudan minka
waj`al hawya taba`an li`atika
wa khudh ri nafsika min nafs

and guide me to the right about

which disagreement has taken
place by permission of You;

wahdin lim ikhtulifa fhi min

alaqqi bi'idhnika

verily, You guide whomever You

wish to a straight path.
