But with exotic coffees, juices and smoothies all vying for our
attention, its easy to forget what the clear stuff can do for our
health and appearance.
Water is essential for many of our bodies important functions, and
it helps give skin its healthy glow. In fact, the Department of Health
recommends drinking around 1.2 litres of fluid every day around eight
small glasses. Fail to drink enough water, and youll soon see the result:
a dehydrated complexion that hints at problems beneath.
So, if youre going to make drinking more water a lifestyle choice,
then youll want to choose the best. Forget expensive bottled water
or filter jugs having pure filtered water on tap, 24 hours a day,
is the most convenient way for you and your family to stay hydrated!
And if you love drinking pure water, no problem. But what if you
prefer a little extra taste with yours?
Thats where our delicious water recipes come in.
We asked top chefs and foodwriters to create some memorable
recipes with water as their centerpiece.
Enjoy them with us.

Grapefruits are known for being packed full of various vitamins

OR A N GE & BAS I L IC E CUBES

Add a smart touch to how you chill your drinks with this recipe
for refreshing ice. Drop one of these beautiful-looking cubes
into a tall glass of water to really add the wow factor and an
instant flavour injection. The best bit? Steve says that ice made
from filtered water is the perfect partner to a great cocktail. Even
delicate flavours are perfectly defined, meaning we can add a
whole new dimension to our cocktails, he adds.

WH Y TH I N K OF WATE R AS
A N I N GRE D I E NT?
As a chef I go out of my way to procure the
finest ingredients for my dishes, Steve says.
Why wouldnt I want the finest water? Water
is the foundation of so many recipes. It can
represent the majority of a recipe, and its
quality can affect the outcome of a dish.

Heres the problem: you
decide to make your favourite
soup, using the finest, freshest
ingredients. But without a
second thought you use water
from the tap which could add a
variety of unpleasant extras.
Kineticos solution: water filters
which purify your supply, giving
you crystal clean and delicious
tasting water. Its Reverse
Osmosis technology significantly
reduces unwanted aromas,
tastes, minerals and chemicals.

Before he found out about how

Kinetico water filters could improve
the taste of his recipes, Steve says
he never thought about the range of
unwelcome flavours normal water
can carry.
He says the Reverse Osmosis
system he uses in his restaurant
gives him the clean canvas which
lets the flavours in his recipes shine.
Water has become one of my
most valuable ingredients, Steve
adds.

H OW D O ES R E V E RS E OSMOS I S WO R K?
Sounds confusing? Well, what
Reverse Osmosis produces is
perfectly clear. Reverse Osmosis
systems, such as the Kinetico K5,
have three phases of filtration.
Heres what they do:
Pre-filtration gets rid of the
larger particles and chlorine.
Reverse Osmosis sees
water pass through a semipermeable membrane to filter
out inorganic compounds (like
metals and nitrates), getting
rid of impurities.

Post-filtration sweeps away any

unpleasant tastes or smells that
could remain.
You too can make great recipes
taste even better by using pure,
filtered water to really enhance
and bring out the flavour. Youll find
the Reverse Osmosis technology in
the premium Kinetico K5 range of
filtration systems.
